Griffs output is a minor concern atm.Needs to be more involved than what he is currently. For a bloke who on average gets under 10 disposals per game and is lauded for doing so yet Vickery gets pounded for getting less than 20 and kicking 5 goals at least is very puzzling to say the least.
But i agree big year needed by Griff and/or Vickery

Yeah nah, you're wrong.

Vickery averaged more disposals and goals this year (once again)

Vickery has kicked bags on multiple times. Griffiths never has.

Vickery is actually very smart in close and usually finds the right option by hand or foot. Griffiths plan A is to bomb the ball 60 meters (nothing wrong with that) but saying he is better than Vickery is genuinely laughable.

Obviously he has all the tools and potential to be a very good player but potential and ability are two different things and at this current stage of there career Vickery has a lot more runs on the board.

Vickery>>>>Griff
Just on Griffs kicking, he needs to learn not to launch it in the air so much. I would prefer him to spear it more so it is a long pass so as to hit a target, rather than just bomb it long to a contest. Sure a lot of the time that is needed, but there was plenty of times when he could have been more surgical.

Love what Ben brings to the team. He just needs to do it more often.

He and Vickery offer very different skill sets. In a way they should compliment each other. They need to learn to gel together and pass the ball to one another any chance they get to create a chemistry between the two of them. A bit like what Roughie and Franklin used to do.

Having two mobile and talented 200cm players should be exploited, not hidden.

Sorry I prefer to judge by watching who has more impact on the game such as strong contested marks around the ground, effort and helping out in defence rather than whos stats look better on paper.

Like his kick to Reiwoldt (who in turn hit Deledio for the first goal of the 2nd Essendon game)? That was a sublime 30-40m pass. And shows what he his capable of. The contested mark to start it off weren't half bad either.
His highlight reel last year would be quite impressive. Still another year of improvement required. Looking forward to Ben staying in games for longer again this year than last and he'll be safe and we'll be happy.

Vickery played 4 less games than Griffifths this year... Yet kicked 23 goals to Griffs 12... Also took 24 marks inside 50 compared to Griffs 17... In 4 less games!! Griffifths just isn't dangerous enough inside 50... Which is where you need your 2nd tall forward/ruck punch hitter to be dangerous. Yes he has all the tools, everyone freely acknowledges this... But they are irrelevant unless put to use.

Oh and for those who will say, oh yeah those stats are skewed because vickery plays closer to goal... Well vickery also averages more general possessions so not sure what Griff is doing up the ground but it sure ain't getting the footy.

I really like what I hope griffifths can become but it is cut and dry right now he is behind vickery and for anyone to suggest otherwise shows it must clearly just be something personal against vickery not on merit!

exackery.

Vickery gets gifted games. Been playing a whole lot longer in the big leagues then Griff.

What does being gifted games have to do with actual output? Given vickery outperforms griff wouldn't griff being gifted games be an easier arguement?
