Poor form to anyone giving him a clip on the way out.

He’s given his all for our club for 315 games. Stuck fat when he could’ve left to chase flags many times. He owes us nothing.

Thanks Goldy. An absolute pleasure to watch at his best. Will always be one of us.

Gotta be Collingwood doesn't it? Just makes no sense you would announce you are leaving a club but not where?

So disappointed to think we couldn't do a deal to keep Goldy but maybe there's a message there. He has been a good servant of the club so good luck to him if he can score another million or so over the next two years. Travel well Goldy and thanks for your service.

Reckon there might have been a message when our new coach didn't pick him for Round 1

I guess he wants to play in a final…can’t blame him. Just please get rid of all the absolute spuds running around

I’m one of the few that are happy with this

He’s 36 next year

Time to move on

Go get Soldo
After watching both prelims, I'm not too concerned either. It's clear that an elite ruckman is not a requirement to go deep into September.

Filth - Cameron and Cox. Nothing special, can take the occasional clunk. Don't appear to relish physical contact.

Cheats - Pittonet. Very physical and competes well. Not afraid to drop back into the hole and stand his ground. Doesn't offer much going forward.

Lions - McInerney. He is a plank of wood. His only elite attribute seems to be his height. Is made to look better than he is by his mids. Hates physical contact and is a magnet for soft frees. Daniher is a better ruckman.

GWS - Biggs. Good physical ruckman who intimidates and monsters his opposition. If he can be more dangerous going forward, he'll be one of the best in the caper.

I think our best hope for X is that he can develop to be a Nankervis type. Nank looked pretty average at Sydney but Richmond play him to his strength, being physical and intimidating. He's also quite clever and knows when to float forward and create a mismatch.

If anything, X needs to put on a few kilos to emulate Nankervis. He's never going to be an endurance beast who covers the ground well, so play him to his strengths. I also wouldn't be averse to getting Soldo in to share the ruck load and teach X to play smarter and within his physical limitations.

Mclnerney chanelling the Sept.specialist Clark Keating last night. Few big thumps away from the ruck contest and 2 very nice straight as a die goals.
Actually been very good this year.

( still not forgiven though )

There was a time he was the lock SuperCoach captain.
I also remember Jordan Lewis round-housing him from behind right in front of me at Marvel. Dog act.
The Hawks were flying, but knew Goldy at his best made us very hard to beat
They also knew he was soft. Goldstein should have evened up the next game the 2 teams played, he didnt and showed the world he was soft.

We have to find our next ruckman. It would be just delaying that process if Goldie played the majority of games in 24. I want to see what X can do still. He dominated the VFL, so there must be something their.

Weird rant. You need to be pretty tough to ruck at pretty much every contest for 300 games. Xerri’s hard as teak and tackles to hurt, Goldy was smart and had beautiful skills, if you can’t have it all very often, we’ve done well out of what Goldy has been.

I still don’t get the rumour about Collingwood having interest, but it’s a bit odd now there are only two teams left that things have gone quiet on his destination.

Honest player who racked up 300 games for the club.
That doesn't happen often.
Honestly, if our list management team were half decent, he would never played so many game for us.
I wont hold that against him though, thanks for your services.
'Honest player' yeah only one of the most skilful ruckmen this century. No biggie

It's not particularly brave to emerge from the shadows after all this time and take potshots at your favourite whipping boy now that he's leaving.

I actually thought you had moved past this sort of crap, but obviously not.

Wtf is this? 😂😂😂😂😂

Surprised that the Pies are one of the interested teams but considering they gave Mason Cox a 2 year deal I guess they have some ruck depth concerns.

Those hanging shit on Goldy can go root a boot. He's easily the most talented player we've drafted since the turn of the century, and clearly could have had his choice of club but chose to stick with us.

If he wants to get an extra million out of another club where we're not prepared to match it during the very arse end of his career, so be it. Good on him.
