That Quickstep team might struggle....has Boonen looked likely in a genuine sprint for the last two years? He might still be a star on the pave but forget about TdF stage victories.

Nice balance on the Columbia squad, watch for Micky Rogers to outperform Cadel as top Aussie. I'd love to see him go top 10. Radioshack and Saxo Bank are far and away the dominant teams on paper, so it'll be interesting to see them put Alberto to the test. Astana will be fairly weak, maybe Tiralongo will step up. I have doubts over the usefulness of Vino and Pereiro. We all know Vino's ego is way too big to work for someone, remember TdF '05?

I'm heading over to France for stages 11-20......can't wait! :D

Not bad balance for Rogers, don't know much about Sivstov, still Cav is the leader as you can see with the riders around him. Monfort is quality and Martin isn't a bum up mountains, Rogers has a fairly good shot at top 10. Don't mind the HTC-Columbia team TBH.

F*** me radioschack have a good lineup. Brajkovic is a massive inclusion. I really want to see menchov and gesink do something this year.

Looks a strong enough team. I know Morabito can provide support for Cadel and hopefully Ballan can retain his 08 form.
Who knows even Hincapie could prduce something spectactular along with Frank who is a solid rider. He won KOTM in the Tour de Suisse I believe.
Burghardt will stage hunt along with Kroon. Bookwalter is a sprinter I think. Have no idea about Santambrgio though.

Bookwalter is a Time Trialist, the BMC website, says he can climb but i haven't seen a great deal of it.

Santambrigio is a stage racer.

Like the team overall, name by name, they seem to be targeting stage wins which seems a smart go for a team of their status. Not sure even if Cadel had a super domestique he would put in a contenders performance, just think he's done too much racing to perform at his best. In saying that he's a fighter so i'm not putting anything past him even with the team he has. If he plays it smart, he may sneak into the top 10.

So by my count that is 10 Aussies in the TDF this year, which I am fairly sure is a record.

Looking forward to a continuation of the great year of Aussie cycling that has already happened this year!

Yep it is a record, we had 9 in 2008 I'm pretty sure...

Garmin-Transitions
Julian Dean (NZL)
Tyler Farrar (USA)
Ryder Hesjedal (CAN)
Robbie Hunter (SA)
Martijn Maaskant (NED)
David Millar (GB)
Johan Van Summeren (BEL)
Christian Vande Velde (USA)
David Zabriskie (USA)

That team looks setup for sprint finishes as well as the TT, Maaskant would be the only mountain support for VV
