The 1993 off-season was a fairly devastating one for Fitzroy and saw us lose quite a few important players, which made it very difficult to be competitive from 1994 - 1996, when we left the AFL. The one sided trade with Richmond that is so often cited involving Jeff Hogg was in fact two trades

In the interests of accuracy and for reference, here are Fitzroy's trades in the 1993 off-season. Feel free to comment.

Trade 1:
Jeff Hogg (40 games) --> Fitzroy
Pick 26 --> Richmond (Stephen Jurica - 18 games)

Trade 2:
David Bain (12 games) and Nigel Palfreyman (1 game) --> Fitzroy
Pick 64 --> Brisbane Bears (Shane Hamilton - 16 games)

Trade 3:
Paul Broderick (169 games), Michael Gale (91 games) Matthew Dundas (14 games) --> Richmond
Pick 6 --> Fitzroy (Trent Cummings - 26 games)

Trade 4:
Alistair Lynch (186 games) --> Brisbane Bears
Pick 7 --> Fitzroy (Chris Johnson - 264 games)

Broderick, Gale, Dundas and Lynch were all out of contract which reduced Fitzroy's bargaining power somewhat.

Thanks, Roylion, I was unaware of the complexity of the Richmond trades until your post.
Trade 4 is quite ironic given Chris Johnson and Alastair Lynch were two of the three best-performed Fitzroyites (Martin Pike obviously being the other) at Brisbane.
Of the four trades, it was certainly Trade 3 that "killed" us.
