What were they thinking with the schedule? Felix is the female Bolt, with the talent, charisma, and like ability of Usain, but they don't give her a chance to shine.

I thought after MJ the schedule change was permanent.

As Tim Hutchings and Martin Gillingham said the effort by Olympic Champion Aires Merritt who is going to get a kidney replacement - donated by his sister and reckons he is only 65% fit - to win a bronze medal is an unbelievable effort.

On a minor note it was fantastic to see the great Alberto Juantorenna - 'El Caballo' -the horse - present the medals for the the triple jump, probably hoping to present gold to Cuban Pichardo. Juantorenna is the only man to do the 400-800 double at the 1976 Olympics. He was the first Olympian great I idiolised as a kid because I ran 800's.

Long time BBC sports broadcaster David Coleman - a bit like Bruce did a lot of sports inc athletics made the famous call in the 800m when Juantorenna broke away and got 2m on his opponents in about 10m at the top of the home straight in the 800 finals - "The big Cuban opened his legs and showed his class." Commentary ****-ups in Britain became known as the Colemanball after that.

Wow that 100 hurdles was a bit of a shock - another Jamaican sprinting event gold. 5 fastest women in the world this year were Americans, 3 + defending champion Rollins. The 6th fastest was Brit Porter with 12.56. The winner Williams ran 12.57, a PB, as did the silver and bronze medalists.

After he retired they changed it back. But I dont think they ever changed the women's schedule, just the mens

Really? I thought Cathy ran both at Sydney
You are right Gainsford Taylor finished 6th and Freeman 7th - which I reckon both would be moved up a place after Jones had her medal stripped.

Felix didnt run the 400m at either Beijing or London so it was changed for those games as she was a leading runner in those years. She was only 18 at Athens and I dont reckon she ran 400m - fast enough back then to be top 3 in the USA.

Wow great way to get the girls out for the relay. Come outa as a quartet and get them to pose a bit for the camera. The first out were the Canadians who looked great and posed very seductively.

These decathletes are running a 5 minute mile pace or 3 minute km pace and it looks slow. **** that's scary.

Yeah, I was watching that and thought the same thing. I'm a mid 4:20's runner in the 1500 and it suddenly occurred to me how pathetically slow I must look out there. :D

That's right Tim Hutchings the first two Jamaican change overs were poor and Gatlin put a big gap on Powell but the 3rd Jamaican put pressure on Gay and then the last US runner Rodgers shat himself knowing the gap had closed and Bolt was about to come.

Bolt does the triple triple - 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m at 3 world champs in 2009, 2013 and 2015 and if he didnt **** up the 100m start getting Dqed in 2011 he would have the quadruple triple.

He also has the double triple at the Olympics and at this stage I will put money on him getting the triple triple in Rio next year.
