This might be bias talking but I want Max Hall in the MSD. He looks to me he could play a Zurhaar type role in the forward line. Having a great year so far.

I feel good about where Hawthorn are at.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Calsh went the extra mile today and contested everything, even Blake Hardwick! Another good showing from the young fella, I think he was subbed as management, not because he wasn’t scoring, very competitive and made a difference again.

After Papley takes the mark and drops the ball while walking back then the ball makes contact with his foot, is that technically play on? Genuine question because I don’t know if there is any kind of rule there or not.

Cat’s are starting to play teams that want top four. Their run to start the season was easier than ours.

I wouldn’t do that deal if I were the tigers.

Could Hall play a Zurhaar type role at top level? Hard body forward that pinch hits in the middle?

Toast Welcome to Hawthorn, Finn Maginness “absolute Hawthorn nuffie” and a Hawk to 2025

Love his ability to get his hands free and stand up in a tackle, gets his arms wrapped up and just flexes and muscles his arms free to get a handball out. I think he is choosing better options with his kicks too.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Cyril Rioli caught Chuck Norris holding the ball, played on and kicked a goal… …from the back pocket.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 18, Josh Weddle

Look at Young from Freo, spent how many years off half back? Then goes into the guts suddenly and is in really good form.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

Because he is so small and has a big leap he just cannonballs into bigger opponents, but because he is such a good reader of the ball too he does it legally. We saw it on the weekend and then the run down on Jones.

The teams that have beaten them excluding us sit 2,4,5 and 6 (losing to Geelong by less than a kick), it hasn’t exactly been the easiest of runs. Their wins have been convincing. They don’t have it very easy up until the bye really. Could be interesting.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Lloyd Meek

The best ruckman in the league get the inside handball delivered to them and are able to release players on the outside with their own handballs which could be apart of the answer for us. I’m not sure if I’m ignorant or not but I think this was the first real showing of it happening for us on...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

Literally foot and ball on the boundary line, defenders around him, 3-4 games in and has a split second to decide what to do. He was kicking ridiculous freakish goals less than 12 months ago in the juniors and I love that he went for it. The time it took to go from hand to foot and the purchase...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

Doesn’t change the fact that the handball was bad. I can understand that injury may have contributed but that doesn’t mean that it done the Wiz any favours. I mean, Sicily managed a right handed ball drop to kick a goal after a marking contest while playing out basically a whole game with his...

It doesn’t work because neither of them are even average marks and struggle forward.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

No, I think we are saying the responsibility is shared. It was a s**t handball and resulted in a s**t kick. Both of them could have done a bit better.

Riewoldt (I think) also got very excited and complimentary of one of Mass’ spoils too. I like it.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson!

Wiz is tough, he doesn’t shy away from making contact with the bigger players (which is everyone in his case). The 2v1 was fantastic but there was another play out of the centre where he barreled into a Doggies player causing them to not get a hold of the ball. He’s not kicking goals but he is...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

He didn’t seem phased out there, ran out and played his weapons. Like it was just another game for the young fella. I was excited before the debut but now my pants are wet.

Autopsy Round 8, 2024 : Hawks leash the Dogs

Meek - Best game for the club, outstanding. Impey - One of his best games for the club and best I’ve seen him for a while. Probably BOG for me. Weddle - Another player that is building, this kid is going to be unbelievable. Ginni - Quiet for the most part but I felt he stepped up in the last...
