News Wylie Buzza signs with Southport

Lost Frampton to his dream club.
.
*Lost Frampton because we only offered 1 year to a guy that had barely played in years and is extremely unlikely to make the grade.

Crows offering 3 is crazy talk if that's what they did.

1 year for Wylie is just a perfect 1 for 1 with what we were hoping to get from Frampton.

I like him. Doubt he will be an A-Grader but love his intent, and played well across the year in the VFL. He was never going to get a gig this year with Hawkins/Sav up forward but I wish him all the best. Writing was on the wall when Jenkins fell in our lap.

From all reports, a great, popular clubman who works hard. I think there’s potential there. Crashes a pack. Beautiful long kick.
Frampton is who we lost, and his strength was strong hands. How are Wylies hands? Frampton was a big time clunker, and whilst he wasnt really mobile enough for AFL, his hands gave him a shot. That is something we'll miss. I'm hoping Wylie therefore has a similar ability to pluck em.

Under Hinkley that is highly probable, then when we squander multiple forward entries, the coach at the top of his game, will move the Buzz saw forward. After not being able to tally 6 majors in his first stint in front of the big sticks, coke man will drop him and then delist him at the end of the 2020 season. :p
Please no...

He competes but doesn't clunk them that often.

Never thought he'd last to our pick.

He tends to double grab the ball, or he tries to mark it with his face.

Your point??
Could he become a tall defender that we now need?
Howard was a tall defender who left the club because we didn't need a tall defender and he was told he'd have to play as a forward to get a game yet you are saying that Buzza, recruited as a forward, could be the tall defender we need.

"Buzza" reminds me of "Banzai" and "Bullseye," which seems good.

Truth be told, it was either Hinkley or Frampton. Since Hinkley has stayed, there was nothing that could be done, but to let Billy go and bring in a replacement.

Hopefully, Hinkley likes Buzza, and everything is fine. Alternatively, Hinkley may be gone after this season, and everything is fine after that.

Buzza comes in fresh. That's the main difference. We have reset the "tall-forward-depth" clock. We were forced to do it, but it is still a good move.

One's trash can be another's treasure. Let's see...

"Buzza" reminds me of "Banzai" .....
Hinkley would prefer "bonsai" to "banzai" expect when it comes to his coaching contract.

It's bad enough Koch wanting Hinkley to coach Ports for ten years let e banzai.

Dumping on billy? I think some supporters are just pointing out buzza is a good like for like replacement for billy.

And billy chose to leave.

As for billy being good enough to shut Jonas up, I think you’re massively overrating him, I personally think Jonas would shut billy down easily.

I am guilty of rating Billy highly. 5yrs on our list for 3? games is it any wonder he walked.

He's got the raw materials to be a very competent player and if he turns into a bewdie for the fck'en crows I'll spew.

I hope your right......... I really do but the way he's been treated under Hinkley says more about Ken than Billy.

As for Jonas I don't rate him and never have.

Any way as to our future I hope/wish Wylie all the best.

I'm pretty confident his level is Brad Moran tier.

Well most on the cats board are dissapointied he wasn't preserved with for at least one more year so that's a sign that they can see his potential or he is just a popular bloke. Good luck to him hope he makes it with us

If Hinkley planned 9/11 a fleet of Cessna 172s would have bounced off the World Trade Center.

if Hinkley planned 9/11 he would have waited for the towers to attack first, then slingshotted defence into an offensive manoeuvre.

Watching the few video's of Buzza I could find he appears to do a fair bit of ruck work as well playing forward. If he plays, I don't think there would be a need for two specialist rucks.

Also, he is solid at 198cm/102kg. He at least has the frame of a modern key position forward, 13kg heavier than Frampton. If he likes the contest and crashing packs our small forwards potentially will have much more opportunities.
