It is just AFL Victoria pushing it's own agenda by trying to get more kids drafted into the AFL system rather than trying to make it the strongest league outside the AFL. They have certainly dropped that batten in recent years by doing the stupidest of things like removing the development league.

It is just AFL Victoria pushing it's own agenda by trying to get more kids drafted into the AFL system rather than trying to make it the strongest league outside the AFL. They have certainly dropped that batten in recent years by doing the stupidest of things like removing the development league.

All it's doing is pushing 22 year olds who have AFL experience and have a chance to get back into the system towards suburban comps. Why go to a club that can pay a max of 350k to ALL their players a year when they can go to a Rowville or South Croydon and get paid 15k a week? The VFL salary cap needs expansion, not dilution.

A bit of an exaggeration but the EFL is full of players getting paid top coin.
