Our adopted Aussie was brilliant today cant wait for the AO next year the whole country will be right behind her. She can now live freely how she wants and not be judged anymore she can focus on being a pro tennis player.

Next match is 10:30am Sydney time tomorrow

Hopefully Australia can make Daria a citizen quickly so she can play in team events for Australia.

It’s a process and who knows with the Olympics qualification as there are minimums of tournaments but there is an “exceptional circumstance” proviso was listening to a podcast today and they were discussing it. Dasha could potentially claim this and be available straight away

Great week in Stuttgart for Penko beating Iga (H2H now 6-0) and Sabalenka.
One of the most frustrating players to watch.

Her best is awesome, when she's not there though...

Iga got bageled in the first set last night against Keys.

Into another semi, wouldn't at all surprise to see Gauff win though.

Sabs will win the whole thing easily

One would think so.

I'm still waiting to see an Iga/Sab final though.

Iga is so cooked looks horrible even on the clay, she's dropping sets to basically any half decent player, honestly the coach has to go he hasn't worked, I get trying something but it's only a matter whether he goes before or after the French. Worst thing is Sabs was hardly brilliant to win the thing (could have easily lost to Marta Kostuk in the semi I think it was or might have been quarters forget what round that was). Coco was verty good though, I missed the final so can't comment how she was then but watched her the two rounds prior and that's the best her FH has looked since January.

Yeah Swiatek is in trouble.

Even the nature with which she lost to Gauff was really poor.

Yeah her whole game has gone off and dare I say it she has little idea on court, she's become how can I put this nicely a complete 'ball basher", whereas in the past she'd construct the points and with good margins. It's like she's completely forgot what got her to no1, I really wish she'd calm down and construct the points otherwise honestly be shocked if she even reaches the quarters at the French.

Coco was very good to be fair, but Iga was abysmal, there was a period in the first set early second where Coco won 15 points ALL off Iga's unforced errors and these errors weren't close we are talking near a metre out or into the net

I suspect she'll still make the quarters of the FO, a lot of players still panic when they see her.

It's the top end talent that don't fear her anymore - they're almost beating her before they even get on court.

She better hope she doesn't draw Penko or another hitter early, I really wish she'd just forget this new gameplan for a month, go back to just playing long points. Look will it win the French who knows but this ball bashing one won't. Her serve is a mess too, since the change in coach her first serve has dropped nearly 10% in every match, so whatever they are doing isn't working. Before the change in coach she used to used the 3/4 kick serve on big points and back her game from the baseline, and it worked, now it's whack a first serve miss, then it's 50/50 whether it's a double and if not lock in some ridiculous UE that misses by half a metre

Gauff vs Andreeva should be a cracker in Rome, both in great form.

Iga continues to disappoint. I doubt she skips RG but an extended break might be good for her.

Iga and her change of coach has been hopeless no two ways about it but to be fair the first that beat her was hitting lines all day long.

Time for Mirra to not be as putrid against Coco please it’s embarrassing every time they play

Paolini wins in Rome. Great result for her, she'd played a great tournament.

Sending Iga to no5 hahaha

Paolini also won the doubles with Sara Errani (don't get me started on how bad Mirra and Schnaider played in the semi though Diana literally didn't hold serve the entire first set and promptly flopped a break in the second after Mirra earned them a break

Please put Iga in Coco or Sab's quarter please

Iga should be pulling out really.

Reckon it might be worth betting on whoever she's playing, she'll get rolled by someone paying decent odds.

Only thing I will say and I'm not saying she wins the French okay, but the Roland Garros clay is so much different to any other type of clay, every player says it. So whilst she is playing horribly she would be literally the worst person to draw in a 4th, quarter or semi- she has lost one match on that court in what 3 years and that's in the Olympics to Zheng who can be like that and blow players off the court.

If I were tipping it's Coco's slam to lose with Sabs, Iga just behind.

Best outsider is Marta Kostuk who gets the seeding and has pushed Sab's to the brink the last two tournaments. I know some will say Ostapenko but seriously if you trust Penko you are better than I am.

Mirra isn't playing well enough to win (Wimbledon and US are her chances), and gut feeling Paolini doesn't though the latter is a chance as she's very solid on the red dirt having made a French Final.

That is the way I have seeded it after the leadups now I could be wrong but that's how I'm seeing it.

Svitolina I think will go deep in the tournament. She's been in reasonably good form.

Not a terrible call will need to avoid flat baseliners though they trouble her these days. Has been playing well agree there
