TEW, Wrestling spirit and promotion wars?

Other than that, the only one that comes to mind is WWF RAW which was released in 2002 for both the PC and Xbox. As I recall, it was pretty appauling though.

You could download an emulator and use it to run some older console-based wrestling games, though the controls will probably be hard to become proficient in.

I think consoles are much better suited to playing grappling games than the PC.

Promotion wars is free.

If you are looking for any free wrestling sim to have the same intricacy that EWR has, then I'm afraid there isnt one currently around. The only other games I can think of are those that preceded EWR 4.2.

I've heard of a few being built, though very few will ever see completion, and those that do will have a hard job in surpassing EWR.

That download doesn't work.

www.mdickie.com

This guy has been making wrestling games for the PC for years now. They're a little crude looking and he's been using the same menu system since forever but the gameplay is surprisingly good and improves with each entry. The series introduced things like lighting objects on fire way before the Smackdown Vs Raw series as well other assorted hardcore elements.

Yeah, I want free games, thanks anyway.

Ah, in that case you could try League Warz. It's pretty much just a EWR clone but with some nifty new features. Also you could try TNM6 which is free on the TNM7 website.

Any info on these games? I have had EWR since its early days but havent heard of these games (TNM and League wars). I went to both games websites but neither were too helpfull in the way of listing features and the like.

The download for TNM 6.2 is at the very bottom of this page here. Couldn't find the features list either as it's a pretty old game. Oh, just noticed 6.2 plus at the top of the page too.

Here's the features list from League Warz site

- Many Match Types/Combinations
- New TV System, with more than only Wrestling Shows.
- 28 Wrestler Attributes
- 11 Staff Attributes
- New Type of Event (PPV) System and new Type to hype them
- The Development Leagues are real Wrestling Leagues
- Pre Booking Shows
- Exporting Event/Match Reports to HTML File
- Financial Depth, real Manager Sim
- Skin/Theme System
- Language Files
- Very good Editor
- Many, Many more!

And an old gem I keep forgetting about. It's like that old game Micro League Wrestling without the graphics. Fun but a bit dogdy at times.

Unfortunately, there just isn't a good wrestling game for PC. Raw was no good when it came out and is now well out of date (in technology as well as wrestlers), EWR is tedious and predictable, the MDickie games are clumsy at best, TEW is in desperate need of streamlining and Promotion Warz is riddled with sloppy coding and a terrible interface. There talk of a new wrestling game called Pro Wrestling X, but whether it exists as little more than a few JPEGs is another matter. You'd be better off running the old console or arcade games on emulators.
