How can they be expected not to turn conservative after being told that "black lives matter" isn't the opposite of "all lives matter"?

Or that cops weren't born with blue skin, so "blue lives matter" isn't a thing?

I find this funny.

Conservative parties are not asking why men are heading in that direction. They've read the room and they understand . They capitalized and they've welcomed them.

It's the Left that are scratching their heads. And their attitude is like yours. You can play it down, but the audacity of mainstream media to take a pot shot like that was sexist (and racist for that matter). That video is emblematic of pervading attitudes towards young men- that there is something wrong with them and they need to change. It's gaslighting to say to young men that it is all in the heads.

If you genuinely want the discourse to move forward, and want to understand why young males are turning conservative...just listen to them. Otherwise, it is going to take a very long time to reverse the trend.

There's a reason for an increase in rightwing 'positions'. But it's nothing to do with being a conservative.

It is the weaponisation of social media tricking mostly straight, white, males into believing they are under attack from 'the left'.

But can you explain why?
Why do you believe, with all things being equal, that black people should have less off a 'share' per capita, than white people?

Real life isn't a zero sum game.
Gains in one group do not have to come at the expense of another.
The solution in this example is to take measures to increase the size of the pie.

All groups can benefit. This is a net positive for all those involved.

And if anything, increasing the size of the pie will disproportionately benefit the group with the larger existing part.

So your actually advocating increasing the gap, in terms of real world access.

At this point you need to ask yourself-
Is your goal to see the disadvantaged group elevated?
Or is it also to penalise those groups that are doing well and drag them back to the mean?

Thus, despite a net positive, would you avoid this solution because it doesn't handicap the successful group (eg one with a particular skin colour?)

You may have a different view on this to me. But I believe that there is no substantive genetic difference between any race of humans.
And that there should be no ongoing disparate outcomes between two groups of people, based purely on the colour of their skin.

But you're welcome to argue otherwise.

That’s not what he said. There’s the reasonable point of why does every job need every share of positions to mirror every possible demographic exactly? Should there be jobs where you can legally block any group out? Of course not! Should you then dictate that teacher, nurse, board numbers, any job, must be 50/50 male/female or whatever demographic group split you’re advocating? That’s ridiculous. The combination of who actually WANTS those jobs AND who’re actually qualified for them should be the only factors taken into account.

We’re all here fans of the AFL, would anyone here be happy if the next 9 coaches appointed had to be female to get us to 50/50 representation, regardless if the best person? I doubt it? Yet in 10-20 years time, once there’s been a generation or AFLW players and AFLW coaches, some will get line positions and eventually a head coach position for the guys, and a few idiots aside, most won’t care, because they would have been appointed as the best person for the position, not to fill a quota.

Not necessarily. It depends on what variables you wish to add. You are selectively adding them here to support your position, with your presumptions about disproportionate uptake.

That's cool, but totally academic.

In reality, outcomes are not based purely on skin colour. And that's where we are. Reality. Which is why disparity can manifest due to countless other variables.

Prosperity stems from a combination of personal discipline, ethical values, and a commitment to continuous improvement and meaningful relationships. Which is why cashed up sports stars can loose their fortune within years of retirement.

Government intervention / racist policy is no substitute for the cultural inculcation of these principles, without which 100% of people from all ethnic groups will fail.
