"It's 1990, and Adelaide have been granted their AFL license. Only issue was, with season 1991 approaching, the board were completely stumped on concepts for their jumper! Various board members were seen storming into the local 'Rowe & Jarman' and acquired numerous pieces of sporting attire including jackets, singlets and track pants. A vibrant colour palette was tinkered with for months and eventually settled with a scheme and design that best represents South Australia. The board agreed on the moniker "Crows" months prior and incorporated reversed chevrons on the front and back to simulate a crow flapping its wings. The light blue for their vibrant skies, yellow for the badge on their state flag, burgundy to honour their vast vineyards (realistically, the wine) and its all encompassed by the crows black. The blue, yellow and burgundy are also linked to the SA's usual state colours with a hue change in an attempt to stay unique. People were complexed by the "No rush" slogan during their unveiling, but those few eyewitnesses that day know the exact reason behind it and became one of footballs greatest pieces of folklore."

"The SANFL, at war with the Port Adelaide Magpies over their tretcherous attempts to enter the AFL in their own right decide to adopt Port Magpies erly 1900s colour scheme of magenta, black, blue and light yellow.
This was done to prevent the Port Magpies from taking much of their identity into the league if they tried in the future, whilst adhering to a colour set similar to the state colours, replacing red with magenta, royal blue with light blue, and gold/yellow with light yellow in addition to the black of Port Adelaide.
They shall be known as the Adelaide Crows, the closest black coloured bird they could find, also aligning with the states "Croweaters" identity."

"Uh Oh Crows! It's the day before the first game and to the disbelief of many, the newly founded Adelaide Crows are without jumpers! In an last ditch effort to get the game running, the club raced into the Sekem warehouse and bought 22 of the first plain jumpers and shorts available. Once back at the ground, players and staff scrambled to put together a guernsey for the match against the Tigers. Fortunately, the club chose green and purple to make sure of no clashing colours, and used strapping tape with permanent marker to add the team name, a rough sponsor and number to the jumpers to give them some character. With that, the game went ahead, and the Adelaide Crows started their AFL journey as a green and purple monstrosity!"

"After deciding on their, erm, unique colour palate, the Adelaide board turned their attention to their brand.
Naturally, they were drawn to the culturally rich area of Port Adelaide, more specifically, the famous Black Diamond Corner.
Taking care to avoid conflict with the SANFL's most dominant force, the Port Adelaide Magpies, the Adelaide board decided to lean into the rich cultural tapestry of Port Adelaide without stealing the Magpies thunder (pun intended).
And so, in 1991, the Adelaide Diamonds Football Club was born!"
