Blair and the greater list management/recruiting team have done their part. Now the onus is on Yze to build an attractive, competitive and identifiable game style that will eventually take us to another premiership.

I said from the very start that I'm going to reserve my overall judgement on his coaching ability until the end of year three.
He had a baptism of fire in his first year where he was forced to use essentially every player on the list due to horrible injury management.

History is not on his side as no rebuild coach typically sticks around to see the fruits of the foundation that they have built. Sam Mitchell could be a sign of that changing though.

I hope he shows us that we made the right choice. Win/loss record means nothing in season 2025. All I need to see is an identity where I can simply say "That's Richmond footy".

The guy has one of the youngest most least experienced lists in the comp

We’ve brought Blake back, Morro in the seniors, newy, truck and ziebell

It’s not a one man band Dimma had Blake and Leppa amongst others

It’s a nice mix of experience and youth that can grow with the side. Things can change of course but he needs time and we’ve got plenty of it

Unless he loses the players I think we stick with Yze for a few years and then see where we're at.
Surround him with as much coaching talent as we can and see where we're at later down the track

Some of them will get game time no doubt but you can’t rush them they’re still just kids it’s going to take 3-4 preseasons for them to playing week in week out

I agree we shouldn’t rush them …. My comment was more about general culture at the club …. This season seemed very grim and uninspiring. Let’s hope there’s a better vibe at the club next year

Has the blanket of blank canvas' to work with now. Keen to see what he can do. The injection of youth should do wonders.

he's not going to cheat on his wife so our culture won't suffer that's for sure.
these young lads in Yze's care can actually believe in what the premiership heroes are telling them
what it means to be a richmond person
not just lip service but the club actually stands for something
which in my view is the greatest thing our last dynasty gave back to us,, most precious jewel, every one must fight to keep it

Treating 2025 as year one of the Yze tenure. Last year it was like he was a caretaker, guiding us through a season from hell where the chances of being competitive were pretty much done once Lynch & Balta got hurt against Sydney.

Now he has the chance to establish what he wants to do without restriction or favoritism. The bulk of the premiership heroes are now gone and those that remain are no longer the the reasons why we'll win, but they will be there to guide the next generation through the next couple of seasons as they look to establish themselves.

There is absolutely ZERO chance that Yze will be sacked and even less chance that he'll quit, so those of you suggesting that will happen are either trolling or deluded

Too right...the best we can hope for is Yze grows into his job...like most successful coaches!
It's not like one morning you wake up and say... I feel it...now I am a successful Coach.

It’s a simple game that gets over complicated. The game style is cyclical. The dumb arse afl though need to keep changing rules instead of letting it evolve. It has forever. The forward handball game started with barrassi. Dimma brought it back in 17. Hawks brought in the short kicking game. Been used before. The only anomaly was Geelong kick mark game which was manufactured off the back of a rule change by the AFL
