Carlton bolsters list with Irish talent

Carlton have recruited another Irish talent for the AFLW team.

THE CARLTON Football Club has continued to strengthen the depth of its AFLW playing group, with the signing of Irish talent Maria Cannon.

Representing County Mayo in Gaelic football, Cannon is an elite runner with an exciting attacking mindset. Her ability to find space and successfully deliver the ball to a teammate was a standout trait for recruiters when they visited last year.

Effectively kicked 13 in a game last year, and has a few other bags. Up there amongst the forwards in terms of output, but obviously in spurts.

As usual, the GAA player highlights are few and far between, but seems to cover a fair bit of ground, wiry type. Interested to see more!
