yeh those questions actually come up on it. its stupid though becuase its nothing like actually driving in reality. best tip is dont click to early, my driving instructor told me that ppl tend to panic when nothing is happening and just click whenever.... also, if its a yellow sign at least (not sure about speed limit signs) you dont click until after you've passed it, which is stupid and totally not what you'd do in real life but pfft why make a driving test actually reflect anything you'll actually do? but hey, you only need about 60% to pass or something easy like that so dont stress

good luck!!

Hazard perception test is ridiculous, i dont see how clicking a mouse is the same as driving a car, considering that basically every car handles differently and would require braking at different times etc.

Not to mention, that i remember when doing the test, there were a couple that i had no idea what it was doing, or was too dark to see anything

I passed, but only got 54% or something

With some common sense, and a little bit of luck, you should pass

I was at my mates house and I think he downloaded one off the vicroads site, i had a little play with it, just wondering if anyone has done this do you remember where u should click on the first one where you see some blinking lights and a person walking across.

Yeah, I agree with this - don't click too early. It's really easy to see it, think hey I'll react now, and then you click but it's too early. Give it a second or two after you would have normally clicked. It's a really stupid test, but don't fail it or they'll charge you to sit it again...easy way to make money, because a lot of people fail it!

The test is really, really bad. For example, in my actual driving test I got in the 90's. For the Hazards, I got in the 60's. Its just plain stupid. You dont know the capabilities and limitations of the car, the screen is really pixellated and half of the mice dont work unless you click really hard.

There are a few questions when you aren't required to click so dont feel the need that you have to click for every question.

just got back then from my test

got 80%, like all of you guys have said its really stupid

Got 98 and had fun counting to ten and clicking, went with my amte at the same time and both us kept hitting each others screen worst test in the world.

Had my licence for 2 years no accidents and still reckon this test had nothing to do with it

what is this test for....is it before your p's becuase i've already got my l's and don't want to do anymore test unless its the driving one

The driving test is even easier than the hazards test. I did 5 hours of driving max before my test, nearly got 100%. Piss easy.
Manual or go-kart (automatic) license?

The hazard test is a joke

Driving practice is not meant to prepare you just for the test, its also to teach you to be a safe driver once your on the roads. i only had a about 60 hours (120 is pretty impossible to get) but i refuse to get in a car with anyone who has had less then 50. The test is meant to be easy as they are generally in slow back streets (at greensborough where I was, pretty much all the streets are 40kph) but you need the hours for when your out there on your own in situations you havent been in before.

lol although that said, the test is quite stupid - i drove on the wrong side of the road and i still got 96%!!!

If you drove on the wrong side of the road, you'd fail.

I wouldn't brag about how many little hours you did sainters. Do you think it makes you cool? You just aren't as safe as those who did complete the required hours. Its your own loss, really.

I did 120. Its not impossible, you just have to be willing to put in the time.

well i did - it was only because there was a car parked to close to the curb and i had to go around it then just forgot to move back coz i was so nervous - the only reason i got away with it was because the tester liked me and my instructer and it was in a small street with no actual lines.
haha i wouldnt recommend anyone else try it!

I'm not sure how many hours I did on my Ls, I never kept track but I reckon it would have been around 70-80 over the course of a year (I only started driving when I was almost 17).

But I found that the real 'learning' experience came when I was actually out on the road on my own on my P's. During my test I made sure I knew how to drive how the instructors wanted - out on your own it's a different story.

I'm about to do mine in a bit less than a month. For the actual test, barely anyone fails on accumulated points. As long as you don't forget a stop sign or hit a tree or something, you should be fine. Try to relax but don't be too casual either. I'm more worried about the hazards to be honest. Not because I think it's overly hard but because these computer simulations area bit hard to judge. It's also booked only a few days before my actual test (stupidly) so if I fail the hazards I won't be able to repeat them before the test.

Hehe I must have had it easy a few years ago. True or False 20 questions test to get the L plates, five 1 hour driving lessons, then a half an hour driving test and bingo, youve got a license.

Did it all in 2 weeks, then when turned 17 did the driving test.

120 hours you guys have to do? I think its 50 here, whn the new laws came in. Thank goodness got my licence before that dodgy law came in. Reckon I went out driving with my parents 4 times for a half an hour tops, and then 10 driving lessons with the instructor + test before I had my P's. You learn much more driving without someone telling you what to do all the time. Much less pressure. Been driving for 5 years now, and havent come close to an accident, or a speeding ticket :D. Only a defect for a headlight that was out.
