Does anyone have any decent info on the Vic Country boyz. Seems like the metro boyz are a bit lite on for major talent in terms of there stocks...are the country boyz any better...who should people look out for?

Nth Ballarat Ryan Herring
Matt Rosa *
Daniel Batson
Jordyn Burke

Murray Chris Egan *
Marcus Drum
Brett Deledio ***
Michael Davidson

Gippsland Taylor Collins *
Andrew McQualter **
Kris Pendlebury
Dean Polo
Jarryd Roughhead **

Geelong Tim Sheringham *
Hayden Foss
Renwick Watts
Jordan Lewis *
John Meesen *

Bendigo Tim Hill

Sandringham Xavier Leslie *

* Denotes the one I think are the better players to look at

They will add some more players to the list in the near future. Burke from Nth Ballarat possibly did his knee or ankle on Saturday and may miss.

Not a very strong team really.

So Deledio and Roughead are clearly infront of the others. Deledio has been a top 3 pick according to some for a while...where is Roughead likely to go is he a top 5 or a top 10?

From what I hear from recruiters at various games, Deledio is the standout TAC player so far. At 189cm he is good height. Top 5 and probably lower.

Roughead is AIS and one of the better 193cm prospects in the TAC. He is mobile and already listed as 85kg so he ahead of the alot size wise. I suspect he will go 1st round but have no idea what is interstate aside from a kid called Lance Franklin. Franklin is around the same size and has some huge raps.

All clubs are looking for that next KPP.

John Meesen will make an excellent tall utility in the AFL.

Capable of holding down CHB, and also pinch hitting in the ruck.

If you are out there Mick Ryan, perhaps you can fill in some details about the lad.

Notwithstanding my lack of knowledge of the Vic and SA boys and for that matter any of the Division 2 States, I am prepared to say that if he is not taken at 1 he'll certainly go at 2.
He is athletic and could play anywhere down the spine, in the Ruck or for that matter anywhere on the ground. He has safe hands above his head and in front of his body, very good below his knees for a 194cm player, uses his pace to take opponents on and has a strong left foot. I understand that he is a very good 400m runner. My only criticism is that he doesn't use his right side enough, no doubt because he is so good at the level he is currently playing he doesn't have to and at time he tends to play as an individual.

The trial match is on 1PM Sunday 13 June at Victoria Park. Good chance to see Victoria's best talent on show.

I have to say Vic Country's squad looks very poor this year, and I reckon they will struggle big time.

ive heard that a young ruckman named cameron wood is touted as a very high pick. he is very tall and athletic, and with the lack of quality ruckman in the league this boy (who i think is 204cm?) will got top10 if not earlier.

Lots of talls in the Country squad.

Newton, Roughead, Watts, Pendlebury and Herring are all key forwards.

Foster, Batson, Meyer and Meesan are all ruckmen.

Drum, Caroll, Ladiges, Anderson, Young, Davidson are key defenders.

The likes of Deledio and Egan can play tall.

And that is without Jordyn Burke being fit.

Very, very hard to put a team together from this group, there don't seem to be enough midfielders.

Hmmmm, how about something like ....

B: Hill Ladiges Carroll
HB: Henshaw Drum Lewis
C: Sheringham Leslie McQualter
HF: Rosa Roughead Egan
F: Pendlebury Newton Dignan
R: Batson Deledio Collins
I: Foster Polo Foss Marsh

Yeah, SA kid, I think he is around 204cm. Will be very interested to see how he goes in the carnival.

Country's onball brigade looks slow and not overly skilful either, you'd think the likes of May, Knights and the Smiths will be far too good.

From the games I have seen this year I would suggest Metro need to give Country 10 goal start to make it interesting. :(

I like the inclusion of Newton, Wood, Henshaw and Ladiges. They've been pretty solid the last 3 weeks in beaten teams.

Apart from Buddy's great football skills he is a very talented athlete and wins the 400m for the psa running comp. also is a ggreat guy, he does not live in como actualll lives in the scarborough area... is an individual at times because his teammates rely on him to do it... if he takes a mark for wesley 65 out they tell him to have a shot, that is why his accuracy does not look that good on stats, kicked 4.8 on the weekend.

Wrong, he plays as an individual at times because he can be undisciplined and not follow the game plan. Talk to his several Coaches and they will all tell you that. I don't think anyone on here really cares where he lives.
