Who else has fond memories of Waverley? I can still remember the atmosphere of the '91 grand final... amazing.

The worst thing the AFL did was abandon the stadium. AFL in Melbourne really needs a 3rd stadium and Waverley would have been perfect. The population of Melbourne is exploding in the south-east. If only there was a train line to Waverley we would have been still playing footy there to this day.

It would have needed a complete overhaul, the design was poor.

However, the initial plans were crazy, basically the big stand was meant to go all the way around with a capacity of over 150k!!!

Could footy be played again in 2020 at VFL Park? Could play the grand final there?

Rhett Bartlett got some interesting old film from it's early years. Not great camera work but it is of Waverley then.
