I really like 'What Remains', so great call Cookie.

Speaking of UK shows, while it won't be for everyone due to its utter bleakness, I think this series may be the one that best fits the criteria... And it contains - imo - the best acting performance of the past decade (too bad Stephen Graham & the series itself got Chernobyl'd at all the awards that year), as well as a real star-making turn by Niamh Algar:
