Ultimate Footy - Starting a Keepers League for 2017. (Points Scoring) Anybody Welcome.

Hey all.

With 2016 UF almost finishing up, I have started rounding up people to start a keepers/dynasty league next year. It will be a standard points scoring (DT scoring).

My brother, Dad, a couple mates and some members from our current UF league are interested in starting a new league of our own as none of us have played in a keepers league before. Would love to get around 10-14 if anyone is interested?

If you have any suggestions to rules, preferences such as lineup squad sizes, number of keepers then feel free to add any input here. I have suggested privately to my brother maybe large squads and keep a large portion of players but he is more keen on the smaller squads & roughly 8-10 kept. Ultimately i'm not really fussed, will go with what the majority in the league wants. So if you have any preference then let me know here or by PM.

I think both scenarios work.

The keeper I play in with 4 carry overs out of 20 players on a list is most enjoyable as everyone had a chance every year if they draft well.

Long term full list keepers 45 players are great too, takes more effort and commitment but also more rewarding when you build a successful list.

I would say 14 team works best to keep the player share spread enough.

I am fully committed at the moment but would recommend keeper leagues to those interested.

+ Carry over as many as you want. Each year you may only need to take 4 picks into the draft, or take 10 because you're rebuilding.

Sorry, just checked back into the thread.

Frrost I've noticed your suggestion of changing to supercoach scoring. Sorry but that's one of the rules that won't be changed. Some of us are from when Ultimate Footy first came out and have used points scoring from the get-go. I think there is another keeper league thread involving supercoach scoring though.

Talking to a few of the guys the past week that will be in the league, it will most likely be 10-14 players kept. Lesser players kept allows the teams down the bottom to bounce back up the ladder but it's hopefully enough to also reward good drafting, trading throughout the years. Like your idea of maybe putting money on the line, will put a poll up when the league is created so all members can vote. Polls will be a good way to sort some of the rules such as position changes, trade restrictions etc.

I've noted everyone that has registered interest here and will be hitting you all up when UF is released which i think is early Feb?

The league i'm running is category scoring though, so i'm keen to jump in this as well if there's a spot and do a points league too.

Hey guys. Just an update on our league.

My brother has the league up and running. It looks like the league is already filling fast with old members so a large portion of you will miss out. Sorry! I will be sending out the invites to you here on BigFooty via PM until the league has been filled. Don't be offended if you don't receive a pm as i'm just doing it by who registered interest first/and kept in contact with me via PM really keen. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated though so if a large majority miss out then you guys could get together and start a league yourselves using this thread.

The draft will be a slow online draft with 24 hours per pick. Staring next Saturday the 11th of February. The order will be determined by a predictions method. The night before the draft the Bulldogs play the Crows in the womens NAB. When we have the thread up in Ultimate we do our tip and a margain and the closest to the correct margain will get number 1 pick. Furthest from the margain gets last pick. Snake order draft so it doesn't really matter but it's just a bit of fun and hopefully gets people engaging early on considering we might know each other for years!

Probably around 11 keepers at this stage. Dream team scoring method and the standard 5/7/1/5 team settings.
