What is this mystery injury you keep referring to? He played 21 games in his last season and I’m struggling to remember him having any real injury issues outside of the start of his career with his foot issues.

Yes, he officially retired. However, it’s very likely he saw the writing on the wall with the likes of McCreery and Ginnivan pushing their way in to the 22. He would have been well aware that he’d have likely been playing a lot of VFL in 2022 had he stayed on, and decided to go out as a senior player. Not many lower tier players have the guts to do that and will hold on for dear life, so props to him for that.
