or is it?

Are you guys sure its him? I played basketball against him for a good 3-4 years, never thought he would have left basketball. Would be very good at any sport he took up though, so wouldn't surprise me.

yeh, posted the wrong one.

Could be a coincidence, could be an example of how underpaid our basketballers are

Haha true enough.

That guy in the pics at training doesn't really look like him, like a few of you have said maybe it was the Irish fella?

Or most probably a different Ricky Henderson all together.

Trentham is fairly close to Ballarat (where he plays basketball), which is the only reason I batted an eyelid at it.

Do you have any more info on him?

Is he someone you know, or just know of?

Sloane was involved a bit too and even laid a few nice blocks for teammates to get free. On one occasion he had possession and Knighta was streaming past and yelled for the ball but instead Sloane kicked it downfield. His team turned it over not long after and the two slapped hands after. I think when the draftees were having a kick to kick (with the exception of Young) you could tell he really wanted to be out with the main group.

Being the self-confessed Sloane-o-phile that I am, I have to ask what it was that made you think this? Was he looking out at them?

If its the guy that I think it is, I do know him, although not as a mate or anything.

Played basketball against him between 03-06 through juniors, and moves very well, I'm sure he's over 6 feet. Lean, but the type of frame that he shouldn't have trouble putting weight on.

Very down to earth guy and a quiet arrogance about him (on the basketball court anyway).

Who'd you play ball for?

Okay so its def the bloke from the Ballarat Miners my sources have confirmed, he has revently turned 20 and i have a feeling we wont have to draft him in the main part of the rookie draft if we do. If he hasnt been registered for 3 years then we can put him straight on to our rookie list like Sydney did with Jake Orreal last year.

Don't think so. The date for those lodgements has passed (it was December 2).

I'm glad it was an obscure overaged player, because it was killing me trying to recognise who it was.

Great reports people ......as always :thumbsu:

I know we say each year that such & such has added some weight ......but seriously all of these young guys have added some serious bulk ......Jacky, Mackay, Douglas, Walker ..... :thumbsu:

okay i didnt realise had to lodge them early...

mustve been registered then others wise guess we wouldnt have him training with us.

Great work once again by CG and Drummond. :thumbsu:

We always knew CG had the goodies with her training reports, but Drummond, you have turned out to be a dead set surprise with your training reports and pics, and a pleasant one at that. :) :thumbsu:

As it turns out you two have different writing styles that complement each other admirably.

We are now doubly spoiled. :thumbsu:

Here is a compilation of the videos I took today. I recommend you go into youtube and watch it in high quality, looks much better!

I also forgot to mention that at the end of the session Goodwin was kicking the footy with Symes over a fair distance. I can only assume he was helping him :thumbsu:

That's him! Last Thursday he was at West Lakes after training and that guy in the pic definitely looks like him.

In that case, he's a serious baller, AIS qualified and NBL bound according to scouting reports. Lit up a fare few 20 + point games.

Could yet again add to our growing list of ballers.

Good thing though is the basketball hands and and they agility the bigger guys have.

Symesy = Mr Competetive, pushing his 'opponant' off his tammate for the game.

Love it.

Who'd you play ball for?

I only played against him in the local comps around the Ballarat area, I played for the Daylesford Springers, he always played for Phoenix.

That is fantastic news! Absolutely wrapt for him and I hope you guys pick him up!

Also I don't want you guys to get the impression that he's 'arrogant' as such, I just meant that in basketball he had that swagger and knew he was good, but he wasn't boastful or trash talking or anything of that nature, just a quiet go about his job arrogance.

But anyway that was in basketball, footy is probably totally different.

**** yes! You guys are legendary!

Not so impressed with Brodie Martin today, sorry…Dandy_GO. ;)

NOOOO! What have you done, Brodie?
Must admit he looks a lot shorter and lighter than I thought he was now that I can compare him to the rest of the crow boys, and not the lighter bodies of the ressies. I wonder if we'll try him out as a small forward at any stage, given how desperate we are for blokes to play that position. He strikes me as a true wingman, but he's got the pace, and from what I've seen, he certainly knows where the goals are. Hopefully he's clean with his hands, and the fumble you saw today isn't the norm.
