The weather isn't supposed to be miserable until tomorrow

Try and keep it positive today buddy

SOLDO MEETS WITH GIANTS

RICHMOND ruckman Ivan Soldo has done a medical with Greater Western Sydney, after meeting with the club in recent days to discuss a potential reunion with new coach Adam Kingsley.

It's understood the contracted Soldo met with Giants officials while returning to his hometown of Canberra for an off-season holiday, with the club stepping up its interest in the 204cm big man.

The involvement of Soldo could help Richmond in negotiations over a deal for star midfielder Jacob Hopper. As things stand, the Giants are still searching for more than the Tigers' offer of pick No.31 and a future first-round selection.

Soldo has two seasons to run on the three-year contract he signed at Richmond in September 2021, but is hoping for more opportunities after managing only 13 games this year.

The 26-year-old Soldo has spent eight seasons at Punt Road after arriving as a rookie, including the last four working under Kingsley. The ex-Tigers assistant was appointed as the Giants' new senior coach in August. – Riley Beveridge

Think Cotch will be managed and probably Prestia too.

Then WTF has this Ralphsmith news come from? **** the media, always trying to make a story bigger than what it needs to be. If Giants asked for Ralphsmith after Soldo then we have an issue as it would mean GWS dont want Soldo. If they asked for Ralphsmith before Soldo then the media are ****ing useless if they got this story late.

You read the above article and it seems Soldo to GWS is in the works.

During our premiership run 2017 - 2020 can you tell me which of our mids had genuine speed?

Did GWS leak the Ralphsmith thing?
It's still beyond me how much of this negotiation is being leaked to the media.

Personally, I like it as it's interesting.
However, as a fan of our club and knowing how we like things to get done quietly, it drives me insane that GWS are providing a running commentary to the media.
All designed to keep Tiger fans engaged, how many clicked on links that mentioned Ralphsmith or tuned into trade radio to hear what was going on. Wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to find that the deal has been agreed to and both clubs have moved on to other things knowing exactly what they're getting and then come next Wednesday night it gets dragged out to near the deadline then drops when viewership is at it's peak as 'nervous' Tigers tune in to find out if we land him or not.

Maybe, but I think it gets done tomorrow.

Reckon the media made it up purely to generate interest from Tiger fans to keep them engaged. Hutchy and Barrett were caught out back in 2018 live streaming them discussing 'stories' they'd drop into the coverage to generate engagement. Was a real eye opener into exactly how full of crap most of the AFL media are

Would love to know what the hold up is? If thats the trade then just get it done.

Either GWS want another player (why would they when they are close to the cap)
GWS dont want Soldo now and want Ralphsmith
Or we want something back in return.

I reckon this trade will happen Monday now, we will spend all day tomorrow wondering is it done yet?

Richmond are the last club that would bow to the AFL's TV ratings game.... We haven't even sent a single employee to do an interview for the entire trade period.

Fair to say the olive branch hasn't been extended yet.
