Force Carlton to overpay massively... But the Saints are offering him 500k more per year. I don't think the Blues would be overpaying to keep him at all

We heard from someone who works at the Blues earlier in the thread that we've offered 1.1 but not willing to go above that. So I don't really think we're any risk of paying overs. That would be the Saints

Yeah $500-600k difference let our superjet go although he is a part of the future with Walsh, Cerra, Kemp, Cottrell Hollands bros, Smith for next 8 years at least.

Can't begrudge him leaving way above market rate.

He would actually get more over long term if he stays - our coterie is flushed with property and fund managers that are the top end of the nation. We also have big players like Visy that will give him an ambassador role when he retires at $500k per year for five years. He will be very well taken care of if he stays just like Judd was and now semi retired and not even 40.

exactly, as if anyone here knows TDK persionally. the guy could be like cyril rioli or adam goodes. Ones he's done with football he wants to live his life and get away from it.

It's 4.2 million dollars. You could put that money in a regular arse savings account and earn like 250k per year in interest

Walsh is a bit overrated played on the weekend but it was versus the Eagles.
players like that are in every draft, TDK is pretty rare. I don't think he will get offered as much as people think.

Walsh will be a gun player playing in a good system , He is getting killed at carlton being expected to play inside more than he should.

When allowed to play his natural game he is a gem and if he was at Richmond we would love the way he plays

In any case your wish for an example isn’t that logical given we have never had a guy who’s been offered 4 million more elsewhere.

No one has been in this position ever so searching through history looking for some form of confirmation bias probably isn’t that worthwhile here.

I’d suggest most a player has turned down before was probably 1 to 1.5 mill. 4 mill is uncharted territory.
