There are Tesla system control chips currently built in China that will soon be subject to import embargoes under security legislation introduced under Biden's term.
There's a short window of importing left before further restrictions kick in.

It moved from California to Texas last year, due to state taxes. They are talking about the chips that go into the Teslas though. The Chips are manufactured overseas, the assembly plant is in Texas, along with one in Mexico I believe.
