Since 2001 Carlton has had 7 senior coaches. That’s 7 coaches over a 24 year period, not including 2025. That means on average they sack a coach every 3.4 years.

Voss has just started his 4th year.

I think we all know how this will play out. History tells us he’ll be gone before the end of the year, probably sooner.

There’s a few of ‘em around where I live. You see them moping about, looking forlorn and dejected. Some brave souls still wearing their merch. Trying to drum up some defiance I suppose.

In normal circumstances you would feel sorry for such obviously desolate members of the human race.

But these are not normal circumstances. And I’m not sure Carlton fans can be considered ‘human’.

- Melbourne supporters don’t go into every season deluded that they’re amongst the favourites to win the Premiership.

- Not that many Melbourne supporters around these days who hark back to their glory days.

- Melbourne have off field troubles and the only surprise is that it has taken until now to manifest themselves onfield.

- Melbourne have actually won a Premiership in the last 5 years 10 years 20 years

- Melbourne didn’t lose to the reigning wooden spooners. (And the expected wooden spooners)

- Yeah, Melbourne haven’t won a game yet. But <checks fixture results> neither have Carlton.
