Toast The New Carlton Thread: inexperienced Collingwood winger to rule Carlton

The best part about last night is that with 2yrs to run on Voss’s contract their hands are tied. But Voss would be acutely aware that carlton get itchy feet at the 3 year point and won’t be safe from a mid season axing next year if it doesn’t look like he can deliver.

I can see him going all crazy vossy at the trade table to try and get ahead of the axe. Get your popcorn ready.

I think that Carlton fans have some justification in blaming Voss. His selections for this game were incomprehensible.
Selecting De Koning as sub was not the craziest. Many Carlton flogs put this forward as his greatest selecton blunder, but that is easy with hindsight. De Koning was definitely right to go, but he had just come back from 6 weeks out - so understand the dilemma. One could argue he should have selected TDK in the 22 or not at all, because it was always questionable to play a potentially under done ruckman as sub.

There were two other decisions that I thought were amazingly stupid. Leaving Cincotta out so they had no one to tag (Cincotta had in previous games done well to nullify elite mids like Neale, or maybe could have tagged Zorko)

The other decision, during the game itself, was to sub out Kennedy - a capable mid - while there were several Carlton players at the time who were doing almost nothing.

Incredible to sub out a mid when precisely you need midfield power to get back in the game, for a ruckman!

Clearly also Zac Williams was not fit to play.

Playing Docherty in his first AFL game back as a final also seemed bizarre.

Let's hope Matt Kennedy requests a trade and becomes available. I think he would be a great pick up for us at minimal cost.

This is the one. They had 3 little dweebs up forward who did absolutely fcuk all, yet they sub off a big bodied mid/forward in Kennedy. Bizarre but also quite funny.

You haven't really experienced joy in your life until you watch a final like last nights with a Carlton supporter. I nearly put it above the birth of my kids for pure elation. 🥲
No wonder Kennedy was pissed being subbed off. Missed time with his newborn just to sit on the bench watching that crapola 🥴

Remember early in the year when their donkey supporters were wanking on about having the “top 5 players in the league”?

That aged well.

Now they’re saying they’re “on a scale of 1 to 10!”.

Hard to say; they’re just excited to be on the scale, and making up the numbers.
They're certainly making something up as they go along. I thought when they got on the scale, their egos were so big, that the scale said "one at a time please", and they still haven't recovered their shock enough to attempt to get back on again.

What has Durdin done all year???
Durdin, Cantasia, Motlop and Owies. 4 smalls of which only Owies could justify a game.

Yet they keep them all and sub the taller, big bodied mid/forward who can take a mark and move into the midfield to give Cripps a break up forward.
