Ibrahim brother faces stint in jail​

Fadi Ibrahim, brother of nightclub tsar and alleged organised crime boss John Ibrahim*, has pleaded guilty to possessing the suspected proceeds of crime, bringing to an end the police operation that took down numerous members of the notorious family.
Fadi Ibrahim, 48, pleaded guilty to the reduced charge on Wednesday, years after Australian Federal Police raids and just days before he was to face trial.

The raids were part of AFP Operation Veyda, formed to bring down drug syndicates. Ibrahim was accused of financing illicit tobacco importation. He was never accused of any crimes involving illicit drugs but faces a potential three years in prison.

His brother Michael Ibrahim is serving a 30-year jail term for his role in an MDMA syndicate after being brought down in the same operation.

The brothers were extradited from Dubai in August 2017, with another 17 Australians arrested over the course of the raids.
