I was at the Hawks v Bulldogs game yesterday and saw Thompson get knocked out and taken off on the new motorised stretcher.
I'm not sure if it was the extent of the injury but it seemed to take an awfully long time to get out there, put him on and get him off the ground. I can see the advantages of no jerking around once you are on there but I'm not convinced that it is quicker than the old method.
At least it was actually used this week. In round two at Optus when SOS takled the point post they used the old stretcher even though the new one did laps of the boundary line at every break.
Has anyone else seen it in use and if so what do they think?
