No one should be reminded of that era. I chose to erase it from memory.

Agreed. I remember I was a checkout worker at the time and I was chatting to a regular customer who was a Wet Ham fan. When it was down to Woy or Roberto Martinez (IIRC) as the next manager I remember telling him I was firmly in the Woy camp. I wish I could erase that from my history.

Is it fair to say that Roy was the Damien Drum of Liverpool?

God so much time has passed. Scary to think of.

The Liverpool journey has been pretty great though. Love my club.

Oh man remember Istanbul bro? That thread was a laugh! What at time! 😂

Christian Poulsen, Paul Konchesky and a washed up Joe Cole
Imagine any top 6 club having a summer window like this

It says a lot that the biggest success in this window was Meireles who was flipped to Chelsea in January and Brad Jones who was a backup keeper.

This readds more like the transfer business of a promoted championship club at the time.

As a native Sandgroper I loved the Brad Jones signing

I will die on the hill of Raul Meireles being a good player for us. I was spewing when he ended up at Chelsea.

Yeah he was excellent for the time he was with us. Not quite sure why we sold him. We had FSG onboard by that stage, surely we weren't that desperate for cash. Flipping Torres was the best businesses of the mid season window as unpopular as it was at the time.

There has to be an alternative universe out there where Torres stays to partner Suarez, recapturing his best form and they go on to do great things together for us.

If Madrid can get their shit together properly it's still hard to see how they don't win the CL.
