The US program tracks their contestants, and they say that about 75% maintain the weight loss for 12 months, and 50% of keep it off for at least several years. Most of the remainder gain some of it back and about 5 or 10% gain it all back. That's actually a pretty high success rate for major weight loss. Not sure what the Australian program is like.

 

To be fair to TBL, they do give their contestants good maintenance plans. But it's not surprising that a lot of them struggle after coming out of an artificial environment where they're exercising 10 hours a day, or whatever it is.
