I don't agree with someone losing a debut win because of something completely separate. I mean they voted.

Didn't know the SC was like the Brownlow where an innocuous rule could determine the outcome. But whatevs. Happy my fav song of the PL got a podium.

I feel like this too.... but they are the rules unfortunately. We had a few problems in the past with suspensions and didn't know how to handle it, and this was the easiest way. I feel like it's shit 'cause he voted lol. I'm not taking away his votes.

The mods brought it in because a permabanned poster participated twice. When the results were released, the mods cracked down on suspended/banned posters taking part to close any loopholes.

I'd like to think it won't happen but anyone who ****s with the game should be banned. Like a host who wants to cause trouble.

Yeah, fair enough :)

What do you mean. What exactly happened?
El Dubya got permabanned, and participated a couple of weeks later when he messaged the hosts to allow him in (from outside BF). It happened once where the mods gave a warning, and then it happened again which resulted in the rule being brought in.

What was to stop him just running another account. You really think people on here haven't been permabanned?

He was ban on site, and any future accounts were tracked quickly.

Yeah... permabanned people get found out eventually.

And most people in the SC have been using the same usernames for a long time. Any changes are noticed (like when you went from Purple to JHF, Tubbs used to be roo2macca, Stokey used to be ChappyUK etc).

Yeah it's hard to hide in the song contest. You'd need to take on a whole new persona, and play compeltely different music. I know people can use VPNS but even with them you can be detected by other means.

You could technically bypass by using a second computer permanently linked to a separate VPN.
