Just bought their "new" album. Not bad at all. What are other's thought's about the album and also the band in general?

Yeh I’ve been really getting into this band lately, I think they're great.

I’ve got over half a dozen of their songs on my iPod. My favourites are Chasing Cars, Open Your Eyes and Run.

"Chasing Cars" is my favourite track, closely followed by "Make This Go On Forever".

Is "Crazy in Love" the same song that Beyonce is flogging (think it's her)? It's a Snow Patrol song, if I'm not mistaken

Yep, they've been running around for quite some time, released 4 albums overall. Started off as your typical indie style for their first two albums, then changed it around on Final Straw, creating a much bigger, more consistent sound, which continued on Eyes Open. I saw them live this year in Melbourne...and they were simply awesome...

Final Straw is their best.

Dunno about this "Crazy In Love" song, CK...more info? As far as I know, they've never done a song called "Crazy In Love"...

Top Band, I still think Final Straw is their best though. I wouldn't discount some of their earlier stuff, some top songs on the first 2 records.

I have all four of there albums, but have only listened to eyes open and final straw, with little bits of the first two.

I have listened to Final Straw at length over eyes open. It is a much much better album imo... Eyes open is pretty good too, but i just love FS. 'Wow' is my favourite very closely followed by 'Spitting Games'... Love the end of spitting games.

for those into Chasing Cars, get your hands on Run, from Final Straw. Its a beautiful song.
I also prefer Final Straw to their new one.
I rate Gary Lightbody too... seems like a nice fella

I love Chasing Cars as a song but I hope it does not end up defining their entire career (i.e. one hit wonder). Some of the best songs by bands can be ruined by commercial radio

I was into Chasing Cars before it was cool. ie I got there album months ago. When I first got it noone liked it they were all like this is crap. Now its cool all of as sudden.

I'm not sure where I got Snow Patrol's version from. Downloaded it a while back.

I think I like her version more.

I'd say Snow Patrol and Bloc Party attract very different crowds. Snow Patrol gets the Coldplay and Keane people, where as Bloc Party is for your more alternative crowd.

Snow Patrol would be more popular in Asutralia, because theyre more commercial

Edit: Well on Myspace Snow Patrols site has 14,000,000 plays and 4,400,000 views. Bloc Party has 4,000,000 plays and 1,600,000 views. I have learnt something today

Thanks for that. Already had their version of it, but wasn't sure of who sang the original, until I searched the net. Felt like a real deckhead when I realised Beyonce sang it. (I think I'll go home now, I'm tired ........ )

That's a bit contradictory, don't you reckon? A rising band...but you want them to do shows everywhere? Only the established bands with a guaranteed audience will play all the cities... besides, this tour is just a quick fly-by, if you like. And they've chosen (no offence) the cities most likely to get them a decent audience. Surely you can see the sense in that...and its hardly a "waste" of a tour...

errr surely Brisbane would give them a guarenteed audience, thats the one I'm most baffled about.


And no I wont take offence to your comment because I live in Tassie and we have low expectations with tours here. Im speaking for other states.
