SIREN SOUNDS FOR THE END OF QUARTER 4
Fighting Furies : 21.18.144
Dragons FFC : 20.6.126
=====================================
20.08 - Goal to Toump Ass (FUR) - FUR by 47 point(s).
Last time, the home team stormed out to an almost 50 point lead, before a 14 goal second half got the Dragons within 4 points?!. Sadly for both teams, it wasn't enough and the Dragons endured a loss and the Furies also lost, by winning. 126 points in a loss may just be the highest losing total for the season? (someone fact check that sh*t). Both teams will be hoping to rectify this outcome of course, secure the 4 or -4 points respectively when they meet at the Lair.
Who to watch (on-field)
ShaunDugga 0 8 0 0 6 1 1 4 4 74 Greenery 0 14 0 11 9 1 2 3 1 114
Phenomenal 0 16 9 15 6 4 4 2 0 133
ShaunDuggan and Greenery both had average days by their lofty standards, but remained the highest goal kickers for their sides. Putting in a massive yet wasted slog was PhenomenalV1 with 31 touches and 133DT, leading by example as always. Any player who thinks any of the above have any intent of slowing down will be sorely mistaken. Underestimate them at your peril.
Who to watch (off-field)
This was a trickier assignment. Best off-field were T2B_ and James Colorado, however only contributed a combined 81 posts :/ Both teams will spout something about quality over quantity, but that's a trope for idiots imo. Some may surmise these two were the greatest motivators for their respective teams, some might say the biggest sh*t talkers. I'll let you lot be the judge.
What it means
The Dragons have won 2 of their last 8, fitting of one of the worst teams this season. Yet somehow despite this slide, they're still in with a chance at finals, largely thanks to Bonz 56 goals and counting. But with such a tight pack racing towards those last few spots, they've simply got to win, and win well and hope its enough.
The Furies are also trending in the wrong direction, if you ask them. They have won 7 of the last 9, only losing to the ladder leading OOB's and the head of the chasing pack, Royals. So can they stop this crazy strong form their in and finally lose a game? James Colorado will surely be giving the best anti-motivational speech and some team sheet changes to ensure that happens.
Who takes the chocolates
Despite being 6-8, the Dragons are just a fortnight removed from a really confident win against the Wonders. If they can harness that energy and start fast, they may be able to hold off the Furies. Both teams are set to move in opposite directions at the conclusion of this round. Win and you're (possibly) making finals, lose and you're almost certainly out, barring a miracle. I trust in JC the most of this group, to shuffle the magnets and make sure that his team stops this ludicrous winning streak, before the unthinkable happens and they find themselves in the 8 and playing finals.
Prediction: Dragons FFC by 20 points
