Pie 4 Life
Hall of Famer
For the first time this season, Coney Island Warriors enter the SFA action, having had an extra week off in Round 1 of the season. The Warriors, who reached the impressive heights of 12th last year due to the Dragons’ apocalyptic season, will be hoping to go one better this year and aim for the lofty heights of 11th. Just before the Furies giggle though, they did not do any better, winning the one more game to finish 11th themselves, which was not ideal for a side chasing #firsttoseven
OFF-SEASON
Credit goes where credit is due for the Warriors though, because the combination pickup of CursingFijian and The Filth Wizard has made the Warriors significantly stronger off the field. The Furies, who were abandoned by the loyal Moz and suggested they should fold, have been able to bring in a couple of impressive players such as Bovo and ShaunDuggan, whilst finally delisting Bastyy after his Season 32 Grand Final performance Unfortunately kananooks who was a handy rising talent left to play with some Old Boys.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Coney Island Warriors have the wood on the Fighting Furies, having won 15 of a possible 27 matches. This includes four of the last five matches.
KEY MATCHUP
NaturalDisaster vs. Tonga Bob
Though Coney Island Warriors are yet to post a team submission, I have gone off last season’s form and look forward to a battle of these two in the ruck. It all begins in the ruck, and Tonga Bob has amassed 334 hitouts in the past two seasons. If they had played in Round 1, the Warriors would have celebrated TB’s 100th game, but instead that will be next week. NaturalDisaster is of course taking on his former side.
ROUND 1
In Round 1, the Furies decided to walk off the job in the final term after being a point up, eventually going down to the Bombers by 18 points in a high-scoring match. ShaunDuggan booted five goals on debut, while James Colorado was a little too good for my SpudQoach team and needs to tone it down. Though no one was at the match to clarify the result, Coney Island Warriors had a competitive hitout against The Bye.
FUN FACT:
Fighting Furies will play their fifth consecutive home match against the Coney Island Warriors in this clash, which brings into question if there is some shady selling of home games happening.
MILESTONES:
Lord_Flashheart just needs one more goal to reach 100 career majors.
PREDICTION:
James Colorado to have a horrible game... or else!
