I thought this was a joke, albeit a sick one, when I first saw the headlines.
But, no it's true. The fox has been put in charge of the hen house. Yet another farcical UN decision.
For some reason the story has not got a lot of traction in our press, which is the main reason I started the thread.
I don't know how this can happen when the Saudis are infamous for treating women so badly, as chattels, imprisoning women activists, allowing honour killings of women etc. Human rights watch has an article why woman flee Saudi Arabia
Some folks, well this man at least, thinks we should give them the Saudi the chance.
The chance to do what I'm not quite sure. The words apologist and shill come to mind after reading it. Main argument seems to be Saudi Arabia is powerful so we should let them.
