So I've finished reading "In the Dead of the Night".  It raises a couple of questions.  Firstly, I had to look back (lucky I've got a search function on the e-book), to see whether GL's knife (Damascus Knife was mentioned) was ever found and ever forensically examined. 


Apparently, it was amongst several/many knives, swords, daggers etc in his collection, several of which had blood traces.  However they were unable to get DNA from these.


I'm not sure how you can tell blood (luminol +UV light?) but can't get DNA from the blood?  Does it mean they tried or not, could they even tell if it was human or animal?  This would have been a very important piece of evidence, because if RH's blood or even any human blood was on any of the knives, it would make his story about RH coming at him with a knife lies.
