I disagree, makes complete sense to me. It was last minute, if we wanted a good WAFL player Trew is as good as any. Im sure if we knew we werent getting Dev a month earlier we may have had the chance to find another depth inside mid.It makes no sense and it’s such a strange hill for you to die on.
If we have decided trew isn’t afl quality pick another inside mid aged 20-22 playing well in mens footy and give them a crack. It’s really not that complex.
It could easily be argued an extra pick in the rookie draft is also wasting a pick, while providing 0 benefit in the meantime. At least Trew can hold his own in the WAFL to help the beagles be competitive if nothing else. An 18 year old rookie cant do thatNo you're right it doesn't and he's definitely not a part of the future but it's just weird we've essentially wasted a list spot for zero gain

No current season stats available
It's not like Trew is josh wooden.
I mean if anyone could feel aggrieved about limited opportunity from talent it's wooden.
Guy was a class footballer but behind the like of Judd cousins and kerr and embley and only played 96 games for us.
I would've had him in ahead of Rowan Jones.
Maybe on talent alone, but wash your mouth out about having him in at the expense of RoJo

But we are not obligated to draft an 18 year old rookie? What are you struggling to understand about this. You are the one making it complex for no reason. There is zero reason to keep someone on the list purely for injury cover when we are in rebuild mode.I disagree, makes complete sense to me. And I stand by that. Never once made a judgement on his talent but now we have seven guys competing for two positions in the team when we have very bleak prospects in other positions.Didn’t you spend two days railing against the Hutchinson pick because the MSD is a lottery so we should have taken a lesser rated player who played a different position?
Well you can cross Sheed off for starters - that’s five.Yeo and Culley seem to have fared better than expected off injuries. Reid has come on significantly better than expected holding down one of the main midfield spots. Ginbey and Kelly are in there too. Sheed played as well as or better than trew in the WAFL, and he can play something other than inside mid.
Thats 6 names who are clearly ahead of Trew
