I'm hooked on this stuff. It's awesome, you can just drink it and drink it coz it's low carb, but full strength. It's a good drop, too. Wadda ya think?

On it's own, not a bad drop, certainly very drinkable... but when you have it as one of several different beers in a session you realise how little flavour it has compared to others. I mean, I don't like VB for instance, but it has a flavour... Pure Blonde has a very light flavour. I suppose you might compare it to mixing cordials at different strengths. 1 part cordial to 6 parts water, where other beers might compare to 1:4

Not knocking it totally... like I said, it's very drinkable and it's not hard to polish of the bulk of a slab in one hit.

I'm not sold on the "low carb" angle though. Got about 30% less calories than a standard beer, which I think is about 120 calories compared to 170. If you were THAT worried about your waistline you'd be sticking to water or diet coke, not sucking down 12-15 "low carb" beers which is no different to 9 or 10 heavies.

Once you realise you've consumed 120 calories instead of "saved" 50 you might as well just forget the "low carb" label.

translation: ****ter drink.

Any male that:

a) cares about how much 'carbs' are in a beer

b) call a beer with a watery taste - a full strength beer

should be shot.

End of Story.
Yeah exactly. I'd prefer a high carb beer if anything.

Pure Blond is a continuation of a theme that has been tried a number of times by Fosters.

The original one that many of your oldies would be familiar with is Dietale which became D.Ale in its later years.

This was very unfashionable so the execs came up with Diamond which some of you may remember.

Pure Blond is the latest effort in the market segment that kicks arse in the US but is not so popular here. To be fair Pure Blond has made the best fist of it so far but will never get the acceptance of 'Lite' beers in the US where Lite is for carbs - not alcohol

Piece of crap.

Any person who drinks this urine and calls themselves a beer drinker is a liar.

Beers have flavour. This tastes like water. It's fizz for people who can't handle beer.

Me too.
I generally have to Corona/Pure Blonde rotation in the beer fridge.

I bought a slab in a moment of madness the day after I had drank a few at a mates house when I was already half cut. I had never tasted them before and being drunk I was instantly intrigued "Pure Blonde hey? So what's all this about?" and then enraptured "my god - this is BEAUTIFUL. They go down so easy. Wow - I love this beer"

Anyway, needless to say that when I started drinking them from a sober base I realised that it is a terrible beer. I ended up taking them around to a bbq, dumping them and drinking Heiniken.

I was about to fry you there...until I read your second paragraph. :thumbsu:

A few people I know who have massive beer guts drink it and other beers like it. From that perspective its an ok beer.

Its just a weaker tasting beer taste, so not like the taste is bad just nowhere near as good as a proper beer.

Average. Hard to really form an opinion either way, goes down fairly easy. Low carb shouldn't matter to anyone who seriously drinks beer, or alcohol for that matter
