Didn’t clunk much at all but thought he provided a contest each time the ball was kicked down the wing. Last year that ball would have been an instant turnover.Sims looks like he moves well?
Pretty sure he was meant to be right for pies game
Oh OK thanks. Something to look forward toIt will be 26 days v the pies game since he did the minor hammy
I really don’t understand how someone can contribute to knocking a player down like that and just stand there with their hands on their hips.I don’t think what Ginbey did was completely malicious or anything. But it says more about the bloke that he didn’t even come over to check on Sam at all after the play was dead
In fairness bloke has intelligence of Richmond Flats but pisses himself more oftenI really don’t understand how someone can contribute to knocking a player down like that and just stand there with their hands on their hips.
Happened again with the Ginbey and Lalor incident. I just don’t get it. Shouldn’t be hard to just check on the player.
99% of players do check. Even if they’ve done something dirty. In an unofficial scratch match you’d think it should be more than that.I really don’t understand how someone can contribute to knocking a player down like that and just stand there with their hands on their hips.

Houli's a lebo.Remember the outcry about houli... 'manifestly inadequate'.... Always crickets when it comes to tigers, floss, prestia, soldo, knights (**** you wallet and liberatore) and now Lalor.

We picked him up from our VFL, he played the full year
just rewatched the incident a few times , Lalor only player with eyes for the ball gets delibrately
pushed with 2 hands in the back into traffic by the campaigner who has no eyes whatso ever for the ball, delibrate action
causing injury very dangerous, the fact he plays the man when he has opportunity to play the ball says it all ,should get 2-3 also no remorse shown, pretty cut n dry i rkn.
CFL gotta perfect opportunity stamp this garbage out asap b4 its outta hand which it will be if a suspension is not handed down
just like when Dangerdive KO'd Vlaustin n he came out the very next game rd1.2021 n did the same thing to kelly of adelaide finally getting rubbed out when the campaigner shouldnt of even been allowed to play i woulda sued the arse
offa the CFL if i was Kelly
this incident to test how deep in corruption the CFL really is..like i said imo this incidents pretty cut n dry
Wtf he had full view ahead Lalor wasn't even going to contest till he got shoved into them.I don’t think what Ginbey did was completely malicious or anything. But it says more about the bloke that he didn’t even come over to check on Sam at all after the play was dead
day 3 of wishing injury on gibney
Rebecca?day 3 of wishing injury on gibney
Hey everyone, I live in Perth and went to the game this morning. I stood right next to the players bench and got some amazing insights into the game as well as chatting to some of the players throughout the game. A few insights you might not have seen on the telecast below:
The Good:
Jacob Blight - Played a ripping game at Full Back. He will be huge for us before Balta gets back and will be an amazing 1-2 combo with Balta against the big forwards.
Kosi - I thought this guy was done but the shift down back is a master stroke. As the interceptor his positioning was great and his hands in the air are clean. U might not have been able to see it but in every eagles advance he was so well positioned and forced them to kick around him. When the eagles dominated in Q2 he was on the bench for a bit of it and our structure fell apart.
Thomson Dow - Was our best midfielder. His work rate was excellent and he covered the ground well. He seemed to be everywhere, I’m not sure of his stats but he was constantly in the right spots on the outside and was at the bottom of a lot of packs.
Kaleb Smith - His attack on the ball was like a baker clone. He needs to not try and kick the cover off the ball every time because his disposal was very untidy but he gave everything from half back.
Sims - give this kid 3 years. He plays like lynch and competed hard in the air. He never got outmarked and every contest was bought to ground. When he gets stronger and starts clunking them he is gonna be scary.
Fawcett - Thought he moved really well. The mids didn’t use him as much as they could have, he created a lot of good leads that weren’t honoured and like Sims everything he went for at least ended up 50/50 on the ground.
Campbell Gray - I didn’t know much about him but his marking is a standout. He’s not huge in terms of frame but his hands are sticky and he is tough. He won’t start the year in the seniors but his effort was strong and he will be pushing for senior footy this year.
Lalor - Fk me the kid is a monster. I went to Dusty’s first practice game all those years ago in Craigieburn and he had the swagger but he wasn’t nearly as big as Lalor looks already. Seriously couldn’t believe his size up close. The boy is gonna be special. Basically kicked 3 on debut and dominated Ginbey when he was at full forward. His midfield craft is going to be a work in progress. He is not good defensively at structures. The goal Hewett kicked in the first was because Lalor (who was matched against him at the stoppage) let him run straight through the contest unopposed and he didn’t have the speed to catch him once he realised the mistake. He does have good defensive skills though, his tackles made thunderous cracks around the ground and hurt eagles players.
The bad:
2nd term pressure. Man it was bad. The eagles played extra players and it was hot as (34 degrees) and the boys really didn’t handle it well. Our pressure was non existent at times and the eagles speed cut straight through us.
Hugo’s Injury: I was next to the bench in the first qtr and Hugo came off and he said to the physio, “ i felt something and I was probably 5% in trouble, now I feel like it’s only 1%). The physio gave him a run down and they sent him back on without doing any tests and bu the middle of the second qtr Hugo comes limping off with a hammy. Seriously when a player feels anything in a practice match, surely some due diligence is done?
Jacob Bauer - His attitude sucks. He came off swearing coz he dropped a mark. He seemed to be all about himself and in either the second or third he had a team mate streaming into goal and he burnt him and tried a hero snap that went out on the full. He didn’t do anything that screamed gun and he was selfish when he got near the footy.
Samson - Got monstered in the ruck. Doesn’t seem to be strong enough with his hands and can’t take a contested mark. Just don’t know where he fits when Nank comes in given we have so many tall forward kids that will be preferred in that role.
Tresize - Constantly out of position. Turned the ball over and just didn’t see anything good from him today.
Other notes:
I had a good chat with MRJ and he’s such a nice bloke. Even during the breaks he was out supporting the players on the field and he even helped the water boys carry the Gatorade dispenser off the ground. Just a class act.
I asked Blair for a photo and he laughed and said nah I’m not a photo guy lol. I said but ur the most important guy on our list and he gave me a wry smile and kept walking.
The team culture is really strong. Kamdyn and Rossy were strong leaders when they came to the bench, explaining plays to the younger guys and communicating with the coaches etc.
Overall the result wasn’t great but there was plenty of positives. The year will have more downs than ups but we have a lot of young talent and we just have to remember that they are gonna take time to learn and develop together.
