+Look how spent Vardy is. He and Petrie against Ryder was huge.

- hanging on for 3 quarters with the GOAT backs as per usual without a plan to move the ball forwards
- bewildering turnovers
-sheed for me. Disappointing at times

Sheed and partington be lucky to stay in.
Mitchell petrie and jetta all coming in via trade/other teams. If this.club could draft better theyd win some games
Best win i can remember

Positives:
+ Shuey. Apart from the clutch, he was super impressive across four quarters.
+ Petrie and Vardy both strong.
+ Priddis played strong in patches. Especially the second quarter and most of extra time.
+ Darling stood up in the finals and played a fantastic game
+ Kennedy stepped up late. Was stifled all game with questionable tactics.
+ Gov as usual.
+ Mackenzie was only beaten once or twice and had just one shocking turnover.
+ Duggan owning Dixon.

Negatives:
- LeCras was bad
- Sheed needs to lift his production, but was strong inside at stages.

Yeah, I think Le Cras should announce it during the week so he gets a good sendoff in case we lose against the Giants.

Has been a great player for the club but was very poor again tonight.

He shouldn't play against the Giants though.

Don't necessarily disagree with you - but if they didn't bring in Rioli this week then I can't see them doing it with him now without match practice for a few weeks. I don't think Naitanui is a realistic option either.

Negatives (let's just get them out of the way)
-I have lost my voice and am struggling to sleep , even though I start work early tomorrow
-We'll now get a "top 6" draw in 2018, no matter what happens from here
-GWS next week is going to be a tough ask

Positives - everything else
I'm on Planet 9
But still feel for the Teal mob

Dom Sheed has never played well in a final, he is A grade at going missing when we play finals

Duggan had more turnovers than any other player on the field, his kicking was shocking, and like Masten
seems to get tackled all the time.

LeCras getting a game on his past rep and the fact at times can do some magical stuff

Partington is very vanilla and doesn't offer much

The good

Hutchings was good
Petrie is a god
Everyone else was generally good or had there moments
Shuey what a star

I feel Sheed's finals efforts will improve when Priddis/Mitchell have vacated the middle. He's thrived in there during the season with more exposure.

I think you're being harsh on Duggan, too. Still only 20 and didn't shirk any contests tonight.

WTF GAMES WHERE YOU GUYS WATCHING??

-We lost 3 quarters of footy. We didn't attack at all. Fluke win. We kept bombing long for 3 quarters.

-In 3 quaters of footy we probs kicked less then 3 goals.

-ONE POINT IN THE THIRD QUARTER!!!

+Defence won us game.

HEADS MUST ROLL.

-GWS will cream us.
-Ball use was WORST i've seen all year. We couldn't KEEP IT IN fwd half. We couldn't transition from d50 to f50.

We won due to our first quarter leads + defence, thats it.

We seem to have manufactured a way to stay in games late and conserve energy for bursts of run and clean footy. When we discussed 'sticking to the gameplan' throughout the week, that meant backing our defense and kicking long to contests when Port were spreading hard, eventually wrestling back momentum. It's one thing to be crying out for another strategy in the 3rd when we kept bombing to the flanks, but it drew out most of Port's best footy and exhausted their push. We kept our players in the defensive half and just absorbed everything. Port burned a few chances but I think we did, too.

Priddis turned the clock back and single-handedly dominated the contests early and when it counted late. Shuey obviously a boss.
Jetta was our x-factor in extra time, he hit the centre bounces like a demon.
Defense was fantastic. Dixon got away from EMac, but that save was worth it.
Forwards worked hard to make their chances count. Would like to see Darling and Kennedy get more involved at those contests on the back flank when we're under siege like that.
Petrie had a mammoth game, and Vardy competed very well with Ryder. We definitely learned from our previous 2 encounters.

Find a way to score in those flat periods, and we start to look alright. Hopefully we carry this momentum through!

I feel Sheed's finals efforts will improve when Priddis/Mitchell have vacated the middle.
He might get some more stats but not sure how he his efforts will suddenly improve if he cops more attention. He hasn't shown any ability to handle pressure thus far.

2018 will be really interesting though, in this regard. Excited to see how we go without Priddis long term.

Some of the worst. As bad as our original win v Port.

Wellingham doesn't fix team balance. Not unless he's replacing Mitchell, Hutchings, Priddis or Sheed. When we started losing tonight, we lost it in the clinches, on the spread and structurally around the ground.

While we're talking up the efforts of Priddis, Mitchell, et al these are the guys who let them run the lines for 3.5 quarters.

Wow how did we even win that one???
Some potentially game changing wrong decisions by the umps, coupled with all those misses by Port to slowly creep their way towards our score, and us seemingly dead in the most of the 2nd half until we miraculously scored 2 goals to tie the scores. Then Emac rushes the ball on the other side of the behind post to keep the scores level. In extra time, JK gets a goal which was touched (to pay back for Port's goal that was touched in the 3rd term) and Shuey gets a legitimate (imo anyway) high free kick to win us the match... Is this real life? :drunk:

RE probably drunk. Sheed wasn't good but he only played 66% game time.

Looking forward to seeing the back of those two next year. We haven't got the running brigade to compete in the modern game, unless Naitanui comes back and we gain clearance predominance over the next three weeks.

If you can find a negative in that game you're dead inside and I feel sorry for you
Look this is how i felt like watching the game

It relates to sex

A girl gave me a handjob (first quarter). I splooged (nice feeling)
A girl kept going (second, third, fourth + extra time) (horrible feeling)
Girl stops + I splooge. (last mins) (nice feeling)

So as you can see being toured for 3 quarters does not outweigh the end result.
I feel hurt and frustrated but happy for the result but not happy I had to get tortured
