This thing has always been on my mind. Players always seem to strap up one or both of their wrists. I don't know why but there always seems to be tape on the wrist.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Cheers:thumbsu::)

some ppl have weak wrists or injured wrists and much in the same way a player straps their ancle to prevent an ancle sprain they do the same to prevent a wrist sprain, sprained wrists hurt and can linger for a long time.

Some players also wear Power Balance bracelets, and to prevent it being snapped or grabbed in a tackle, they put tape around it. Fev does this

I strap my wrists when I play.

I have broken both wrists in the past.

I think the strapping only provides minimal support for sprains, however, it gives me confidence that my wrists are supported as well as they can be.

It may sound odd, I tape both my wrists havn't had a wrist related injurry ever but i feel i have my support and a better set of dukes if they're taped

This, especially playing as a defender I find I can punch the ball further when my wrists are taped up. Tried it once and never go back now, always tape em.

when i worked at a footy club a few players taped their wrists with white tape just so they could see their hands better. think of it as a psychological thing.
