A composer, conductor and pianist from New York A project player who never really came on, John Williams only got one outing for Essendon in the last round of 2008. Renowned mostly for his aerial flights of fancy, Williams himself was surprised to be selected in 2008 pre-season draft after coming off a double shoulder reconstruction while playing for Morningside in the QAFL. His shoulder was to cause problems again while playing for Bendigo in 2009, seeing him delisted and re-rookied, before ultimately being cut from the list for good in 2010.

Except the OP missed the 'gun' John Williams who actually come third in the Brownlow Medal in the early 70's - A dashing CHB who unfortunately transferred to Collingwood.

There have been three John Williams to play in the league. One of them had a son called Mark, who is one of four Mark Williams to play in the league, one of whom also played for Essendon.
