I've certainly never seen anything like it at Melbourne. He's just about Melbourne's best inside midfielder after 20 games...and we've got some pretty good inside mids.

And he doesn't have the tank yet.

He'll likely be a very good player, but why is this a main board thread, particularly with his JLT stats as a focus?

Cripps 2015 (2nd in RS) versus Oliver 2016.

Initially Cripps looks better, yes.

But look at the TOG percentage and then reconsider.

Oliver 2016 had a full 12% less TOG - a full ten minutes if you don't compensate for time-on - and only had four less touches on average per game. He only averaged 0.1 less tackles even with the TOG disadvantage. And he went at a DE of 77% as opposed to Cripps with 69%.

I think he's better than Cripps, despite being 2 and a half years younger. I don't think there's a mid under 21 better than him. And honestly, the only 21-year-old better than him right now is Bontempelli.

He hasn't proved anything at all in the real season, besides 13 mostly decent, but by no means outstanding, games in a season where he was in and out of the side.

If he can improve his TOG% however, I see a potential GOAT.
