For the Bulldogs

We're Bulldogs Theme Song words:
***********************
It comes from deep inside
A kind of family pride
It's true as day is long
It's brave, it's tough, it's strong
It's history that makes
That character it takes
It's power, guts and guile
A dogged football style

That's why we're BULLDOGS
We play like BULLDOGS
No fear - we're BULLDOGS
We'll stay like BULLDOGS

It's victories we've won
And hard yards we have run
Attack that can inspire
Defence that's full of fire
A character that shows
Despite the highs and lows
It's courage that you need
To Join this special breed

Rabbitohs - Glory Glory To South Sydney
Tigers - Eye of the Tiger???
Roosters - I want To be A *** (Roosters) Fan
St George Illawarra - Oh When the Saints go marching in?

ive hardly ever heard any besides souths, penriths and the roosters. I just pray that "Eagle Rock" isnt Manly's so i'll say i don't know theirs either.

NRL teams arent as into the tradition of club songs as what the AFL teams are.

I remember seeing Newcastle win a game (wasn't this year ;)) and they cut to the dressing room and they were singing the song, but they were all sitting around....don't remember the words though.

Hey hey we are the Broncos and we aren't horsing around.
We're too busy training, trying to win the Winfield crown....

:)

The Ipswich Connection. :p

Thunderstruck is Storm's unofficial theme song. They have a club song they play after the game. I'll need to find the words to it though. ALso their victory song in the sheds is different again.

what I never knew NRL teams actually had theme songs. why don't they play them like before the game starts like in AFL? that would be cool

Manly's, creatively enough, is titled 'Manly-Warringah' and is sung to 'waltzing matilda'. You'd have to be on the other side of the 1990's to actually hear the song at a game, and you'd have to be watching the side captained by Freddy Jones to actually see a team that knew the words to the song.

i know the Balmain song goes to the tune Carmen - the same one Geelong use.

"We are Balmain,
the famous black & gold...."

Souths as you say is Glory Glory and the Saints is the famous old tune.
I watched Cronulla in rd 1 as Newtown played the curtain raiser down there and they had a good catchy little tune as well. it appears as though some clubs have revived the public airing of the club song.

Eye of the Tiger, Roosterman, & thunderstruck are not club songs. they're just ********** played at the ground.

I'd Rather the Old Manly Song be left alone.

I don't see the need to artificially adopt a tradition that has been dead longer than I've been alive.

Hurbie, thanks! Hearing Waltzing Matilda I still find myself occassionally substituting 'Manly Warringah' for 'Waltzing Matilda', at least in my head! It happens quite by accident, just emerges from some primal 70's teenage swamp in my brain. Cant recall all the words but I do remember sometimes singing it at games during the 70's. Any one know all the words???

From my childhood memories, it's something like

"Manly-Warringah, Manly-Warringah
We'll all be marching behind you this year
And our voice will be heard
from Brookvale to the Cricket Ground
We'll all be marching behind you this year"

We live to play
We play to win
We try and try
We won't say die
We won't give in

We're number one
We'll hold the line
We won't step back
We'll just attack
Time after time

We're lightning fast
We'll drive like rain
We won't be beat
We won't retreat
Ice in our veins

We are the Storm from Melbourne town
We'll blow the others off the ground
We are the Storm and we're number one!

We'll hit them hard
We'll take 'em down
When the Storm hits
We'll blow the others
Outta town

We'll push them back
We'll make them pay
Do what it takes
Make no mistakes
We'll make the play

We'll show them tough
We'll show them speed
The will to win
Is all we need
We will succeed

We are the Storm from Melbourne town
We'll blow the others off the ground
We are the Storm and we're number one!

We are the Storm
The Melbourne Storm
We are the Storm
We're number one

We are the Storm
The Melbourne Storm
We are the Storm
We're number one

We are the Storm
The Melbourne Storm
We are the Storm

They were playing Eagle Rock before and after the game at Brookie last Sunday, so I thought that must have been their official song.
Still, it's better than that silly "Parra clap clap clap" one they play at the Eels' games.
