It really looks like Penriff are missing Luai. They really lost their way late in the first half and leaked in 3 tries they didn’t in the past.

League has always produced its fair share of low-skilled matches but I can’t recall a block of games like we’ve seen recently just littered with filth from one or both sides.

You can still sometimes get a good game out of a match littered with mistakes if it’s from intense pressure or from teams just playing ultra high risk attacking footy but that’s not been the case in some games and it just leaves you shaking your head at times: how do paid professionals have so little ability to complete the most basic fundamental in the entire sport? Our game against the Warriors wasn’t park footy standard for ball handling, the Panthers last night weren’t either, Parra haven’t been in a couple of their games.

Defence sometimes you can excuse because decision making doesn’t rely on effort necessarily. But ball handling unless you are just fundamentally not coordinated only takes minimal concentration.

I love and respect the Panthers but that was pathetic

Mind you, they got stitched up by Klein as well as the bunker it must be said to stifle any realistic chance they had

I mean, it's the salary cap at work.

All of the players they've lost over the last 4 years and I think they've now reached breaking point.

Im not writing them off yet. They’ve beaten a likely top 4 side, and went within a whisker of beating the title favourite away from home with no Cleary. I’ll give them a mulligan for the other two aberrations

They'll still play finals (and you wouldn't want to come up against them) but I'm happy to put a line through them.

Luai leaving will finally be the step too far for them to overcome.

He’s a huge loss no doubt.

I just think if they get there - which I’m still certain they will - and they have their full compliment on deck, they have 3 guys there (Cleary, Yeo, Edwards) who if they play well, will be enough to beat any team, the proviso is, that the support cast is dwindling to the point where each of that support cast HAS to play to its potential now.

There’s no room left for a Leota to have a quiet game because JFH will pick up the slack or To’o can have a quiet night running the ball out of the back field because Turuva will make 180 metres himself.

I’d still back a fit and firing Cleary, Edwards, Yeo, Martin, Leota, To’o, Garner, Kenny, possibly Talagi if he finds a spot, Tago, Sorensen to beat every team in the comp bar Melbourne 9 times out of 10 and Melbourne on a lot of days - Cleary just finds a way.

I f**king hate myself for saying this but the wildcard is Brisbane and it’s not for any reason other than Payne Haas. I think a lot of people look at them and their strike power and think it’s about having good players to put it all together off their halves. Of course that helps but to me Haas and Carrigan are such a good duo, I just think if you have a backline that’s moderately functional, those two will get any team into positions to score points and build momentum week after week.

Didn’t have the rabbits up where they are.
The Bennett affect is real.
I wouldn't be overly convinced on them. I'd still be surprised if they make the 8.

Dunno, they were good last week and their first half last night also was good.
Latrell to come back in if he’s minds right would be a bonus

They got beaten 27-12 last week against Cronulla?

Anyone can look good after being 26-0 down during the game. Souffs were competitive but the shire still don’t put sides away.
Souffs have beaten two winless teams and Penrith who look like a turnstile.

For all the talk of Victor the Inflicter, at the end of the day, Radley is a bit of a pillock, isn't he? Not sure I'd want him in my team.

I have no idea what Weekes' position is. He wasn't the five-eighth I think we thought we were buying last season, he only lasted a couple of months there despite Fogarty being injured most of last year.

He's showing this season that he sure as hell isn't a full back, today is a nightmare.

I don't think Ricky has room for a throwback undersized playmaking centre, he'll err on the side of bigger centres before he goes for smaller ones.
