Looks like Zoe Sav might be going around for the VFLW side this year, based on last weekend’s practice match against the Tasmanian Women’s Academy. Great to see, she was unlucky not to get another go at AFLW level after the injury and seemed quite a popular figure in the group.

That's really disappointing. I agree with you, this time, Nostra, if we aren't going to play our youngsters in our VFLW team then where are they going to get the necessary game time to help them develop, they are just going to spend two or three seasons on our list and then get delisted, which can't be good for our AFLW team long term.

Clubs are increasingly seeing greater value in the scrimmages held during the season – consisting of cobbled-together sides of unselected AFLW players – feeling it is a higher quality game than most state league matches.
