One thing that is really clear to me when watching other games is that bombing it into the forward 50 is literally everywhere in footy, not just our games.
And how it's sold by the commentators depends on the outcome.
When it's marked by an opposition defender, the long bomb is criticised by the commentators who say it's not a kick to advantage, they're being wasteful, they need to lower their eyes, etc.
When it's marked by a forward, then the long bomb is praised as "getting it in fast", a "deep entry", "doesn't matter how you get it in."
