The AFL would have to be concerned about the footy being played this first month. The first 4-8 weeks are usually when footy's at its most free-flowing and high-scoring. Then the coaches get to work and defensive structures tighten up.

Neither of these sides will make the Eight. Carlton allowing Pies to play slow and contested footy. Which suits them because they are full of old bastards like me.
Blues have to play manic. Force the pace and make Pies chase. Which of course is impossible because they would have to get jets for their Zimmerframes
