Walsh and Curnow are important pieces of their game

Unless they get adequate replacements they could struggle
They will be very dependent on McKay and Cripps to carry them and while they could, outside of them, they really dont bat deep up forward or in the midfield. Jagga Smith can help Cripps.

Don't think Luko will attract any attention?

Watched him kick 5.1 against us when the Suns beat us in 2023.
Unfortunately I was there to witness that. Gifted player, but we were able to put the clamps on him in the next two meetings and it really looked like it was easy to keep him out of the play.

Not sure where Port will play him. To me he's a classic wingman or HFF.

He thrived when being the #1 target last season when Dixon was out of thr way.

Why would next season be any different?

Imo, you significantly understate how good Georgiades is.

And you are overstating how good he is, decent player and had a good year lasts year. He's not someone who puts the fear of good into me.

Well if you don’t think Georgiades was already the Port key forward to worry most about last season, I really can't help you.

He has x factor & difficult to keep under control.

Zero Hanger rates Adelaide 10th out of 18 sides, which is understandable on last season... but imo with a fit Thilthorpe should be top 5.

I don't put much chop in that article, it seems to be ranking us based on where we performed last year. In 2023 we were the highest scoring team in the competition. A forward line of Rankine, Fogarty, ANB, RT, walker, Rachele - is comfortably top 5 on pure scoring ability.

Which is what I said... ;)

Did we though ??

Almost every poster here doesnt want him, and taking on an injury prone, overweight bloke on a BIG contract is almost as dumb of a move.

Why are people so reluctant to get rid of ROB?

So reluctant they go to childish arguments like he is overweight (he isn't), injury prone (doesn't stack up) on a contract that in price terms we have given to Rob for 5 years.

It's like you guys get off on fumbled marks

He’s got red hair

Maybe. He'll obviously have someone on him, but I think he assumes he's a half forward pushing up the ground.

Lukosius hasn't been much of a deep goal kicking threat across his career, though obviously Gold Coast preferred to play him down back.

Sure.

I just think it will be interesting, with coaches across the comp knowing that shutting him down probably shuts down the Port forward line's chance to beat you.

They're going to shine a real light on him.

Adam Cerra becomes the one for them if he can stay fit, Crippa cops the tag.

edit : TDK clears the ball a lot when rucking but Walsh can never seem to get a pre season in.

Imo the Port forward line will be better off without Dixon who was their main target even though he wasn't their best player.

Georgiades will now get more supply & with Lukosius & Lord or Finlayson, that's a reasonable set-up.

Reckon their defence is more of a concern...

I wouldn't say it was easy to keep him out of the play. He still kicked 2 goals on us in the next match up and rd 1 of last year was a complete write off for any player over 190cm.

Not saying is he the next Carey, but he is a very handy forward. Still only 24 years old and could easily be a 40+ goal forward in 2025.
