Just using this series to ease into retirement then?Lyon will probably retire after next years ashes
Wasn’t watching, but were we lucky?Oh dear oh dear. Bad light stops play.

I had seen the scores before India went back in. I wasn’t convinced we’d make inroads to their scorecard though. Thought they’d give it a good shake, but end up a draw.No. Dominated the game.
2nd innings they chased quick runs to give us a chance to bowl India out again.
It's filler at best. I've watched a few minutes here and there but I would actually choose to turn over to 9Life for an American renovation show than to watch big bash end to end.Am I on my own in having zero interest in the Big Bash? I'm a cricket tragic from way back and will watch every second of a test match of possible, as well as any game involving Australia. But I couldn't care less about Big Bash other than that it causes intolerable interruption to the Sheffield Shield season.
Could see younger Kraks getting into it given One Dayers were always enjoyed but definitely not nowAm I on my own in having zero interest in the Big Bash? Even with less BBL matches this year, I cannot and will not get into it. I'm a huge shield fan, will even watch 2nd XI state matches over BBL.Am I on my own in having zero interest in the Big Bash? gee there's some some poor techniques in that Aussie top order batting lineup.
Marsh, Khawaja, McSweeney, Labuschange..they don't move their feet and just poke from the crease line and Bumrah has exposed them.
Head because he is aggressive is moving his feet and getting the results. But he's papering over a lot of cracks !
Jury still out on Smith..he's never really been great technically, but reliant on a fantastic eye. Got a hundred here, but would have been interesting if Bumrahs' supporting cast had bowled half decent in the first dig. Still don't think he's picking the ball up that quickly
another interesting test coming up as Indias top order has looked fragile too !
The strangest decision to me was to play an "all rounder" who is all at sea with the bat and only bowls 2 overs even when one of the front line quicks is out of action for almost an entire innings. If Marsh can't bowl then bat Carey at 6 and play Beau Webster. (And pray that Green is fit sooner rather than later). Some strange decisions / mistakes, call them what you will ( the Smiff dropped catch ) Keywee, but l think the one people are missing is the one not to send lndia in for a 30 / 40 minute barrage late on day 2 instead of batting on the next morning.
100% this. The Cam Green injury has thrown them into disarray somewhat but the bigger issue is the unwillingness to make changes to the batting for years on end. While Warner was eking 3 pointless and undeserved years out of his test career they could have been blooding a new opener, now you have the ridiculous situation where you have one non-opener opening who is understandably struggling against the best bowler in the world and the other one is 38 and can't make a run (while doing a Warner and trying to line up his retirement date). And the next best option is 19 and still hardly played any first class cricket. The strangest decision to me was to play an "all rounder" who is all at sea with the bat and only bowls 2 overs even when one of the front line quicks is out of action for almost an entire innings. Well put. There are a generation of batsmen missing from the Australian setup between the 35 year olds and Konstas at 19. Travis head is a gun, but Marnus isn't looking like it at the minute and there's very little else in the cupboard. All of which only further highlights the tragedy of Will Pucovski's situations. In the middle of a marquee series against India.
With the Ashes nest summer.
An all rounder who doesn't bowl with an ageing pace attack.
It's actually farcical.
agree with all of the above, but there's been few that are knocking on the door in first class cricket. Like who was knocking down the door as an opener when Warner struggling to get a run ? or any batsmen for that measure ?100% this. This is an excellent point and I'll say now I've never been convinced by Harris or Bancroft (whose technique has more holes than Swiss cheese for a test opener). I guess my point is that whoever it is (was), we have wasted the opportunity to bring them in and bed them down while Warner was going past his use by date. Now we are where we are. As unconvinced by Harris as I am, if he'd had a couple of years and averaged, say, 35 (or something relatively mediocre) it would still be better than the round peg in a square hole that is McSweeneyagree with all of the above, but there's been few that are knocking on the door in first class cricket. The incumbents have had a long run, cause the cupboard is a bit bare at this stage.
I'd rather Hunt than Harris. Harris is the definition of a flat track bully, absolutely cannot play a ball moving away from him. He's way too loose for an opener, consistently poking at balls away from his body that he doesn't need to play at. He wouldn't stand up to any of the Indian bowlers. This is an excellent point and I'll say now I've never been convinced by Harris or Bancroft (whose technique has more holes than Swiss cheese for a test opener). Either/or (I haven't seen much of Hunt), point is, anyone else at least a year or two ago and we'd be less snookered than we are nowI'd rather Hunt than Harris.
